👾 SCAM ALERT (DISCORD) -- [4/29] 🐜 All (some) is revealed! It's not just an Official Sims Discord issue, it's agents acting on behalf of mobile game publishers, trying to convince folks to play their pay-to-win, money grubby games! I'll update this post with a new section later.

A couple weeks ago, someone added me on Discord, and we had one server in common: the official The Sims server.

The conversation went a little something liek dis:

Itsumi Sejian: Uh, which game?

Totes Not Fishy: <INSERTS ACRONYM FOR GAME>

Itsumi Sejian: <QUACKS BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE !@#$ THAT IS> Oh! I don't think I've ever played that game!

Totes Not Fishy: OMG! I totes mistook you for my friend who has a similar gaming name! I am so sorry, but it's nice to meet you, I'm Totes Not Fishy!

Itsumi Sejian: <TO SELF> You know someone who games with my name? Really? Really? Okay. Slim possibility. I'll play along.

Now mind you, my Discord bio says I mod for The Sims 4.

I've now had three random women add me, and two of them have started talking about games. The one I talked to the longest is trying to get me to play "Infinity Kingdom" on mobile. Of the two more who just added me, one just asked if I'm "still playing that game you used to", which is eerily similar to how the conversation started with the previous one. [BLAH, BLAH, BLAH]

Itsumi Totes Real-Not-Scammer Sims Friend: <TO ITSUMI SEJIAN> I don't trust any random friend invites for that reason. Someone tried to add me recently from the Sims 4 Discord and I've just ignored it.

However, I really think I'm gonna go to bed instead of trying to crank out any modding tonight. I'll end up just wasting time and burning myself out, then sleeping through most of the day tomorrow.

I am so sorry it has taken me this long to get back to modding.

My SKULLS 💀 and COCKROACHES 🪳 (including the toxic parent I live with) know their days are numbered, so they're giving it their best shot:

• Windows has initiated a drive repair on my OS drive twice over the past few days, leading to failed boots and hours of boot drive repairs to get back into Windows. My 120 GB SSD is the solution for this, for now, right after I move The Sims and RuneScape off of it.

• Night before last, the last half-dead monitor I was depending on, decided to crap itself completely. 2/3 of the screen from the right side just died. All these monitor issues are now resolved with the new monitor, however, I've been using an iPad with Steam Link for so long that I totes forgot I have no speakers. 😹

• My toxic parent has decided they absolutely cannot live much longer in the apartment that we just moved into last November. Yes, it has only been (5) months. I need to have a short chat with my boss to find out if there's any longevity in Hardware Doody for me, because I really, really, really want to tell my toxic parent to pack their shit and !@#$ off. This constant apartment hopping started (6) years ago. I can't do this !@#$ anymore, while also listening to !@#$ like "What are you going to do when I drop dead?! You need to get your act together (and start listening to me)!" Y'know, people generally think I'm "playing victim" whenever I start talking about my toxic parent, until I get down to the details. Toxic parents are a destructive force onto their children. They force us to do "less than ideal things" to get away from them. Don't be a toxic parent. If you're a toxic person, have some !@#$ing self-awareness and do not have children. The world and the other people in it is hard enough to navigate as it is, without having to deal with that !@#$ from the people who are supposed to raise us.

I want to show y'all the things I've bought so far, and give y'all a layman's review of them, then followup in a few months (providing we're still alive).

Now, the mouse isn't important, because I have my new Redragon M908.

However, I use the wireless keyboard that came with that wireless mouse, and I need the USB receiver for the keyboard to work! !@#$ me. 💀😹

This is the first time I've forgotten to bring that home, and do you know why?

Is a good thing I have multiple mice and multiple keyboards.

I don't like the one I'm forced to use tonight though. It has this really annoying thing where if you're holding down a key, it'll just release it on it's own, while you're still holding it down, as though it forgot it was being held down. It makes WSAD gaming a chore. Thankfully, I'm not doing any WSAD gaming tonight! I am totes going to bed, right? Yes! 😹

I actually want to get a Redragon keyboard I saw that works wireless, wired, and via Bluetooth, but it's like a next month thing. I have more important things to get for my PC next, like a Plex Lifetime Pass and some storage devices... Don't judge me! I don't like streaming services. I prefer to stream "my" media to myself. !@#$ region restrictions and VPNs!
