π³οΈ POLL: Do you use the "No Godrays On Quests" Standalone or UIC Patch variant that only removes the Swirling Godrays? -- β I only needed one vote. Cheers!
This poll concerns the following SGFX (UI) Overrides:
πΊοΈ SGFX: No Godrays on Quests, etc. -- https://../posts/116007299
πΊοΈ SGFX: No Godrays on Quests: Event Button Variants -- https://../posts/121840542
πΊοΈ SGFX Patch: UI Cheats Extension -- https://../posts/116265171
I'll attach pics later to show the difference, if necessary.
Before we begin, let it be known that I have no problems maintaining the variant it if even just one of y'all uses it. I'm just curious if anyone actually uses it, because...
The "No Godrays On Quests" variant and the "No Event Button Background" variant has been almost identical ever since the variant changed from fully removing the Event Button Background to altering the color and transparency of the Event Button Background to match the Button Background of the other buttons that appear in the top left "SituationDisplay" area of the Live Mode UI.
Even EAxis (at least for this latest Live Event) revamped the Button Background to make it a solid white color.
P.S. EAxis' solid white color doesn't match the background color or transparency of other buttons in the top left "SituationDisplay" area, and as such, I have no intention of retiring my "No Event Button Background" modification.
P.P.S. A request was made for a "No Event" variant that removes both the Event Button and the Event Quest Buttons, for Simmers who don't want to see anything related to Live Events in the UI while in Live Mode. If I can do it, it will be available as soon as it's done as another variant for both the Standalone and the UI Cheats Extension Patch.
P.P.P.S. I personally use the "No Event Button Background" variant, so I'ma cast my own vote!

Honestly the one thing of yours I haven't been using are the... visual stimuli removal ones? They don't bother me much outright (so instead of something like, no godrays on x, I would use shop button removal type mods if anything, and I do have those). So sadly I can't participate in the poll. I'm so glad you create these things for people who get overwhelmed or even just simply bothered by it tho!!
Not everyone needs them, but I saw numerous Simmers pleading for someone to remove them over the years, so after I figured out how to remove the mouse-over effect on Want Bubbles in my DISMISS/PIN mod, I devoted the time required to figuring out how to eradicate everything else I could find. And then came the "patches" for big mods like UI Cheats, and then came the many "variants" as I figured out how to squish more and more irritating little things... and now I'm TOTES NOT DROWNING IN VARIANTS! VARIANTS FOR STANDALONE! VARIANTS FOR PATCHES! VARIANTS OF VARIANTS! VARIANTS THAT OVERWRITE VARIANTS! VARIANTS THAT OVERRIDE VARIANTS! HOW MANY VARIANTS DO WE NEED?! More variants than Wolverine in "Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)"! πΉ
I also use the no godrays ui cheats compatible option. My AuDHD ass can't live without it. Or any other mod that gets rid of all the freaking blinking and flashing and spazzing. Life savers!
Cheers! πΈ
I personally use the no godrays ui cheats compatible. Been a game changer since I found it out, so a zillion thank yous for making those annoying flashy lights poof.
You're welcome! πΈ
