π MODDING 101: Custom Content, Category Restrictions, and Werewolves! -- [12/15] π¦ Yes, I'm shamelessly plugging my little Batty Batβ’.
π I'll expand this post as necessary in the future.

β// β CUSTOM CONTENT & CATEGORIES:
You can categorize almost any type of Custom Content into almost any Category.
You are not required to match content and category, meaning you can categorize texture-only content like Makeup, Tattoos, or Skin Details, into any accessory category, and vice versa.
The main difference is how each category is worn by outfits - either all at once like Skin Details and Tattoos, or individually, like accessories and clothes.
This isn't some groundbreaking, previously unknown discovery, but I am aware that not everyone knows it.
β// β WEREWOLVES:
EAxis !@#$ed Werewolves by restricting them to but a handful of categories.
Most recently, Simmers were lamenting the loss of the Tattoos category.
This is "Elsweyr code", meaning the code that controls what categories Werewolves can use is in the EXE, and only EAxis can modify it. I (and Crilender) can enable these categories in CAS in our respective CASMenu mods, but nothing categorized into them will work. They'll just bug out on the Werewolf, then eventually get removed by the game.
Thing is though, you don't actually need any of those categories, e.g. you can create Tattoos (or other texture-based Custom Content) for Werewolves and just pop them into any of the categories currently seen in EAxis CAS under Head Accessories and Body Accessories (excluding Fingernails and Toenails because Werewolves have "default" Fingernails and Toenails).
They just won't function like Tattoos, meaning the Custom Content won't be worn on all outfits at once. Instead, they'll be worn on each outfit individually, like clothes or accessories - personally, I prefer my Tattoos like this so I can have a different one on every outfit, like a chameleon. π¦
Here's a list of what should work (I've verified them in CAS and included the corresponding Sims 4 Studio categories):
Head/Face Accessories:
Piercings:
Brow Ring (Left)βοΈ
Brow Ring (Right)βοΈ
EarringsβοΈ
Lip Ring (Left)βοΈ
Lip Ring (Right)βοΈ
Nose Ring (Left)βοΈ
Nose Ring (Right)βοΈ
GlassesβοΈ
NecklacesβοΈ
Head/Face Details:
Occult Details (x6) -- These categories are disabled in EAxis CAS and will require a CASMenu mod like mine or Crilender's. Also, these are "Head/Face (Skin) Details" categories, which means that Custom Content categorized here will be worn on all outfits at once, unlike the other categories in this list. Thanks for pointing these out, @LightningZBolt. Cheers!
Occult BrowβοΈ
Occult Eye LidβοΈ
Occult Eye SocketβοΈ
Occult Left CheekβοΈ
Occult MouthβοΈ
Occult Right CheekβοΈ
Body Accessories:
Bracelets:
Wrist (Left)βοΈ
Wrist (Right)βοΈ
GlovesβοΈ
Rings:
Index Finger (Left)βοΈ
Index Finger (Right)βοΈ
Middle Finger (Left)βοΈ
Middle Finger (Right)βοΈ
Ring Finger (Left)βοΈ
Ring Finger (Right)βοΈ
LeggingsβοΈ -- Yes, Leggings work on Werewolves? It's Socks that don't work. Don't ask me. EAxis' category restrictions for Werewolves make no sense.
Fingernails -- Avoid this because Werewolves have "default" Fingernails.
Toenails -- Avoid this because Werewolves have "default" Toenails.
Body Details:
Body Hair (x4) -- These categories are disabled in EAxis CAS, but also, let's just avoid these altogether, shall we?
Body Clothes -- I forgot that doing this will make the corresponding clothing part disappear. Do not use any of the clothes categories! πΉ
Full Bodyβ
Topsβ
Bottomsβ
Shoesβ -- Werewolves' "default" feet are Shoes.

Pretty sure they can use Body Details (Birthmarks) and Occult details too
I'll verify and add them to the list (and Batty Batβ’) if true. Thanks for mentioning it! πΊ
