🧠 "The Elsweyr Place" is the EXE -- ☢️ This turned into a bit of a rant.

Soul-crushing disappointment. That's what I feel right now.

I did a full backup of my game before updating, and I did what I did a year ago.

I swapped the EXE from Update 7/29/2025 with the EXE from Update 7/16/2025.

The game hasn't been altered that much so I'm not experiencing any errors this time.

Werewolf Nose Color does not work with the EXE from Update 7/16/2025.

Is this confirmation that the Elsweyr place is the EXE?

Is there code in the EXE overriding code everywhere else?

Is that why I can't enable fully functioning Facial Hair for Female Sims? Is the (2) lines of code in SGFX - the (2) lines of code in those (133) SGFX resources that I modified - is it being overridden by (2) identical lines of code in the EXE?

Will I never be able to unrestrict CAS categories?

Will I never be able to perfect the subcategory array (item list)?

Will I never be able to perfect CAS?

<HEAVY SIGH>

Is the nonsense with Hats in the EXE?

Is Outfit Generation in the EXE?

How long is it going to take EAxis to fix these things that we can't fix or fully fix from our side because they put overriding code in the EXE, and how much of the game are they going to break before they fix it?

Why do they need save files to investigate issues?

Why are so many "bugs" stuck in "Under Investigation" for so many years?

They must know what code is in the EXE, right?

Shirley the folks developing the game know what they're doing, right?

I'm confused and irritated.

Very irritated.

Is Electronic Arts outsourcing development for The Sims 4?

Is it different people working on the game at different times?

Is generative AI doing the coding for the game?

I need to understand how an alleged team of people developing a game can make changes to that game, break a whole bunch of shit, and then apparently not know what they broke or how the !@#$ to fix it.

Game development is hard, and I ain't ever been a game developer, but folks spend years learning how to do these things.

How do we have "bugs" in this game that have existed for almost half the lifetime of the game, when we have identical other features that work?

Have you ever noticed that the nonsense that happens with the SimBust when tanning, also happens to the human form of Werewolves if you modify the Werewolf form without unlinking the forms? That doesn't happen with any other Occult forms!
