I'm in CAS, dotting my eyes and crossing my teeth for my CASMenu override.
Suddenly, the little Steam Link icon for network issues flashes, and in an instant CAS stops responding. I can't open the Library to load Vampire Scarlet.
The !@#$ just happened?!

EA App is in Offline Mode. I'm thinking the game is also in Offline Mode, but it's not.
I ALT+TAB and there's a new LastException.txt and I'm like...
The !@#$ is that?!
My CASMenu override isn't even in!

I pop it open and it's the "Share" button!
I'm in Offline Mode! Even if the net drops you're supposed to leave me alone!
I exit CAS and a completely broken Live Event panel pops up automatically.

My game was in Online Mode. EA App was in Offline Mode.
The internet dropped, and everything started falling apart.
This is the !@#$ that killed SimCity 2013.
This ALWAYS (PIRACY) ONLINE nonsense that Electronic Arts is hellbent on shoving into every single game they publish.
They force developers to shoehorn this !@#$ into their games and then force them to lie on their behalf and say it was totally the developer's vision to have ALWAYS (PIRACY) ONLINE "features" in their SINGLE PLAYER game.
This is why they're so hellbent on getting us excited over the prospect of multiplayer in Sims.
It's a !@#$ing excuse for ALWAYS (PIRACY) ONLINE.
I like the idea of Simming with others, don't get me wrong.
But Electronic Arts is a company that does not invest in the infrastructure required for ALWAYS (PIRACY) ONLINE.

Do you suppose if we stripped all telemetry from The Sims 4 that the game's performance would improve?
Instead of EAxis !@#$ing with pregnancy, maybe they should give us an "Official Offline Update", like they did for SimCity 2013 after lying for a year and saying the game couldn't be played offline.
It's been TEN (10) YEARS, I think we're overdue for our "Official Offline Update".
Goddess forbid I ever learn this SGFX code well enough to do it myself, because I will strip this game bare.

Wait what the game is still online even when you tell EA app to fkn play offline lol whatttt? This could very well explain why better exceptions and mccc and others mods can easilly direct you to the internet when you get errors. I never thought about it much but I thought it mean the game was offline. That's fkn weird. I do use lot 51''s telemetry app. Idk if that will help you but maybe something you want to consider lol? One day when I was doing another adhd project instead of what I should have been doing I was messing with EA's folder right. I never fkn knew that one they insert all these stupid ass documents into the game that we absolutely do not need okay and two I decided to read one of those which was their weird privacy terms. Boy was i sketched. I was telling my husband did you know they have this shit where you basically fkn allow them to see what the fuck you do with your game?? I was like ew no that's fkn weird. That's why I play offline always and have that app installed and might just try honestly turning off the internet if needed. But yeah seriously have you read a part of it? It's fkn weird and honestly even though I removed so much junk from my folders it all gets back re added when we update right so I just fkn gave up. Talk about bloating the fkn system and being nosey fucks.
I saw something the other day that I haven't looked into yet, but there were apparently rumors of a lawsuit against Electronic Arts recently for farming player information or something of the like and it involved Sims properties. Take that with a dash of salt. As I said, I have not looked into yet.
