🎁 [BG+] Tuning Overrides - Drama Nodes and other annoying things!

🥴 "EP12_SocialMediaPostTNS" has an incorrect archive date of "241101" instead of "241120". Is fine. It was my mistake.

"I heard- her- hur- hur- her- I- I- I heard through the grapevine that you became friends with SOME BADDIE THAT I USED TO KNOW!" My "License: 2 Kills" "DrNOverrides" are geared towards gagging a- 😹 stopping the incessant NPC nagging. I've wanted to do this for so very long. I thought modifying a bit of code would stop it but it never worked. I didn't consider I might need to nuke everything from orbit.

There are currently SIXTEEN (16) ARCHIVES containing a total of FIFTY-TWO (52) OVERRIDES that disable various calls, texts and notifications - including the nightly Social Bunny "A lot of Social Bunny-worthy things happened to {0.SimFirstName} today. [...]" notification.

There are toggles for these in GAME OPTIONS, but I don't trust EAxis to not break everything one day. They already broke the "Wants and Fears" toggle, the "Bust The Dust" toggle and the "Begin Opted Out Of Fame" toggle. I'd rather just override these things, thank you very much. It's safer this way.

  • When this nonsense was added, I had sims... well, it was mostly Johnny and I don't really mind Johnny br- uh, I had sims breaking into my house and barging into my bedroom while I was in bed SLEEPING to ask me if I wanted to be best friends. "Get out of my house! What is wro- would you like to join me in bed?"

I don't actually use any of these because I don't mind Stayover Guests but their coding is half-arsed, which is why they rabbit-hole so much - and I nuked their buggy-arsed suitcases. While we wait on that to release, I've done this, because why not. Maybe you simply don't care for this nonsense, half-arsed or otherwise.

  • This one is fun, except my sim is "transframe" - Male/Feminine Frame - and my clone wasn't because this apparently doesn't account for Physical Frame when "cloning". My sim with a Masculine Frame looks nothing like themselves. Have you ever seen the movie "Gabriel"? My sim with a Masculine Frame looks like Sammael.

  • This is the Stayover call you get with no picture of who it is.

  • I've met Kyle, not through a Stayover though. I think this one only occurs if you live in a certain world. He's like a buff Johnny Zest. I assume he behaves the same as the other "Couch Surf" guests which isn't as irritating as the "Mopey" guests who just constantly tank your Mood into Sadness.

  • I think this is the one where a sim calls and asks if you can accommodate them and their whole household, which is like... you know I live in a one bedroom house with one bed and one couch and you ain't bringing no sleeping bags. I don't mind but what am I supposed to do here? Why wasn't this coded like Sleepover Guests who have temporary sleeping bags? Sleeping bags is on my list for my fix but it's the most challenging one because of how convoluted the code is.

  • This is a friend wanting to hang out for a few days. Is fine! Is fun!

  • I'm not sure what this is. IIRC, the String text for it is like "you lost a member of your Household, would you like some company". I don't know when this triggers. Maybe by a household member dying or moving out?

  • This one you might want to keep if you've got a new single parent household or just need the extra help. I have no idea who calls but somesim offers to spend a few days and help take care of your newborn.

  • This is the Sadness guest who will tank your Mood constantly. I get these more often than the regular "Friend" guests.

  • Like "InfantIntro", this is somesim who offers to help... I dunno, scold your "misbehaving" teenager or you for being a !@#$ parent?

These are NPC sims calling to remark on your romances and relationships, "You and [X] look cute together, I think you should consider taking it to next level!" No thanks, I'm also romancing their husband and their brother and their husband's sister. I wouldn't want to make things complicated.

These are the fun and kinda creepy Drama Nodes that came with EP16. I spoke with a couple simmers on Reddit and they told me they weren't getting them and I was like "QUE?! I GET THEM LIKE ALL THE TIME!"

  • "You have been selected for the 7 Wild Dates, romance-based reality show! [...]" - I once had her husband "Secret Admirer" me right after she called with this. She was gon' get "7 Wild Dates" back to back with me and her man. 😹

  • "Have you been to Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, yet? [...]" - I've always found it odd that some random sim I've never met who isn't even from Batcat texts me to tell me about Batcat. Why isn't it a Batcat resident?

I was going to use "Sweet Dreams" by Eurythmics but... c'mon son! 😹 If you know this song, have you listened to anything else Gotye has done, even from the album this was released on? He's really good! Kimbra is also really good!

Before I realized nuking was the way, I started a project aimed at making the impact of saying "No" less immature by removing some of the negative Sentiments and Buffs from both "Active/PC" and "Target/NPC" sims. I may or may not complete and release it as an alternative.

"We snogged once, maybe we did the Hoowoo in the shower a dozen times and in the bed another dozen times but that don't mean I want you living all up in my house, brah!" There's one missing from this list. It's not a "Drama Node" but it is in disguise. It's the [EP13] GROWING TOGETHER AskToMoveIn request and it's the one that finally got under my skin and made me lose patience with everything else. "That's it! I'm cutting them all off! Don't call me about your job! Don't text me about my friends! I don't care who I look cute with, and if you tell me one more time that I'm gaining a bad reputation, I'm gonna punch you in your pixel face through the phone!" 😹 I'll add it soon enough.
