Dev Update - 2026/05/29
Hey everyone,
This has been a pretty good week so far.
I'm feeling better (it wasn't too bad anyway, but you know... I was DYING!), and I made even better progress than I expected.
As mentioned last week, I spent the weekend messing around with Cascadeur.
I usually have an easier time learning something new when I can sit down and dive in for several hours, rather than just having an hour here and there.
Since the family was away for most of the weekend, I had the chance to do that now, after I kept pushing back learning Cascadeur again and again.
Overall, the tool is pretty damn awesome, and I'll definitely use it here and there for animations.
The video above is the result of roughly 12 hours of work, starting with 0 knowledge in Cascadeur... and I spent the first hour trying to wrap my head around how to control the camera in that tool. :-D
Of course, the animation is still rough (the first sword strike, for example), but compared to DAZ, it would've taken me days to come up with something even close to that.
And I did something similar before with Linnae's sword training scene... that one would've been SO much easier with Cascadeur.
Anyway, I'll keep spending time with Cascadeur here and there now that I have figured out the basics and will start using it for future action scenes.
After the learning session went better than expected, I went back to writing the script for the first chapter ending and setting up static renders for it.
I'm roughly at 40% of the renders needed for that scene, and the script is around 70-80%.
I plan to finish the script in the next few days and then focus on the remaining renders.
Hopefully, by the end of next week, I'll be close to having the first chapter ending done.
The numbers for this week:
94 new static renders for a total of 1776
0 new animations, total still 53
374 new lines in the script files for a total of 5166
Have a great weekend, guys.
Cheers,
Ceo

Thanks for the update and for sharing a vid of the output from an excellent program. This has a Lot of potential!
I was wondering how well you'd take to Cascadeur. Looks like you've got something that can work!
definitely. I was pretty impressed with what I came up with after just a few hours and knowing nothing about the tool before I started (beside a few tutorial videos)
Glad you're feeling better!
Looks good ! Schönes Wochenende ! 👍💯👌
Dito :-)
