I love Joanna Page who plays her, but Stacey is a brat. The things she's put Gavin through and the lack of respect she has shown are outrageous and she's lucky he hasn't told her to get lost, because no one should have to put up with that behaviour.

These episodes always make me think of my own infertility journey & I want to send a virtual hug to anyone who is going through it ❤️ I found out I had a rare chromosome disorder at 26 years old after losing 4 pregnancies over 5 years at various stages (it was hell). I got pregnant easily, but I was told 9 out of 10 of my eggs were basically useless and wouldn’t result in a living child. I was devastated & I remember feeling like I’d let my husband down, even though logically I knew it was out of my control. It’s an awful feeling. We had donor egg ivf and we have a wonderful son now. Sending my love to anyone going through infertility or who has been through it, this episode touches on something very close to home for a lot of people.

Something similar happened to my friend. She left her mirror on her bathroom windowsill and came in to work. It was one of those small mirrors where one side is magnified. Well it focused the sunlight on the toilet roll. The next thing was her neighbour ringing her to tell her that her whole house was on fire 🙈

Lovely episode, Stacey was really sweet and reposed in her treatment with Gav. No, she didn't hold accountability but knew that Gavin was holding in how devastated he was. Perfect also to have Nessa holding people (Stacey and Dave) accountable all episode and then be held it herself at the end :O

Regarding the infertility issue, in case this helps anyone, me and my wife went through the same as Gavin and Stacey. The key is communicating with your partner. I look after myself and am very active that way (sorry probably too much) but when I was told the chances of having children were next to nothing it hits you as a man somewhere you’ve never been hit before and it brings you down to ground zero. You feel like a let down to your partner and look at how many humans there are in the world and question everything. I was lucky enough to get IVF treatment and now have a wonderful daughter who is my world. All I will say though to men, don’t give up, you’re not on your own and you are not a less of a man for it. Keep trying.

Probably gonna get major flak for this but their reaction to Nessa basically cheating on her fiancé really surprised me. I mean Dave is overstepping a bit and I get they want Smithy and Nessa to end up together but still. I don't know, maybe I don't get it and Dave deserved it.
You can’t overstep a line when the line is red. Telling Smithy how much time he can spend with his son. Zero tolerance for that shit. The catharsis is the way the bomb was dropped, in the context of the conversation. The cheating itself is a separate thing.

Unpopular opinion here I’m sure, but I think Stacey is obviously portrayed as very over the top and crazy to play “that role” in the show. What she did to Gav by hiding it was completely inexcusable and I don’t know if I could move past it BUT I really do think her heart is in the right place and she loves Gavin deeply.
If you reverse the roles and it was Gavin that did that to Stacey, we'd be calling it what it is.

There’s a few weeks yet but once this show has finished, you should watch the documentary that was made about it, in which the cast look back on the show and its success. It’s called Gavin & Stacey: A Fond Farewell.

People (often rightly) say that Gavin and Stacey are the most boring characters, but we know they need to be ordinary and relatable in order for the chaos and characters around them to be believable. But they still have some of the most emotional scenes in the whole show. The shot where they’re in the car driving back from the doctors having received devastating news is so powerful, despite not containing a word of dialogue.
Ruth and James both said they almost gave up on season 3 until they realised that what they had written didn't work because it wasn't about Gavin and stacey, they rewrote it to focus on them again and loved it

When they sing bream can come true, the song is Dreams by Gabrielle. She only has one eye and wears a patch, hence when pam covered her eye 🤣
She has sight in both eyes, but she has ptosis in the one she hides. It's like an extreme lazy eye where the eyelid droops.
