iv been a watcher of taskmaster from the start. But even i got fatigued by it. i haven't seen past 4 seasons. HOWEVER i will return to it and binge those season when i get the urge to go back .

i guess my wallet will enjoy this break. look forward to returning when you guys pick the show back up again

I haven't used stationary.. She says while actually using stationery and having used it for every single taskmaster task for 7 series 😂

Can't believe Jess wore that outfit and didn't take her pants off and do the dignity intact dance 😂 Also, Mike stealing the trophy and running off at the end just made me go "I believe that's Mr. Gilmore's!", which I hope is a reference that lands 😂

I hope you return to it some day as the tasks remain brilliant, but at least you ended/paused it with what is still the best season of Taskmaster there has been. The only other one that even comes close for me is S5 (Bob Mortimer (and Aisling) of course). But to reiterate it's all brilliant, so I totally understand how you feel and your reasons and I'm glad you enjoyed it at least. It's actually the most-watched British show in the rest of the world along with Would I Lie To You. Learned that from Richard Osman's podcast! I assume The Traitors has joined that list by now

Talking of Space Invaders type games, did anyone used to play ‘Invasion of the Mutant Space Bats of Doom’? And who can forget the follow up ‘Return of the Mutant Space Bats of Doom’.

You can easily get burnt out from taskmaster, so I get you. I think if you ever return to it, maybe look at the line ups. That's ultimately how I decide if i'm going to watch the series. E.g. the current on air series, I gave up after episode 2 because I couldn't gel with the cast. Nothing wrong with that but I'm sure someone in the comments will

Glad you enjoyed the 7 series you have watched. No problem in taking a break to freshen up. If you do return maybe take a series at a time sharing with others like you used to alternate stuff. Series 9 is widely recognised as a masterpiece. If you never feel inclined to go back to it the we won’t cry because it’s over, we’ll smile because it happened.

Ooh! Rhod should have used the Greg picture to make one of those pens where the clothes disappear. I haven’t looked into it, but I’m sure you could get one custom made.

I absolutely get needing a break. This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I don’t think you lose that much by just watching the best moments as clips.

I never believed that the laminator bit wasn’t pre-planned.

I think a lot of us are in the same boat as you in regards Taskmaster, really enjoyed the show but a break is good. "Familiarity breeds contempt" and "absence makes the heart grow fonder"

This was a great show, but I must say I was starting to feel the fatigue as well. Highly enjoy watching it, but its one of those that is going to feel fatigue like after a while.

I remember when Mike first read the post that they wouldn't finish TM til 2029. You could tell then that there was a commitment issue. That being said, it's gonna take even longer to catch up if you're on break. These videos were the best part of my Thursdays. Not sure what to do starting next week

It's honestly a good place to take a break. One of the highlight series, while series 8 is a more subdued series that might break the camel's back when it comes to burnout.

Loved Gilbert’s interpretation of Space Invaders 👾 and the brilliant introduction fiction to the task with their own version of Adventure for the Atari 2600 which incidentally had the first ever Easter egg put in a video game by the creator of the game Warren Robinett which ties in quite nicely with the egg task.

If you like Green Wing then you should 100% give Spaced a go. It was Simon Pegg’s breakthrough show and has a similar meta comedy vibe. One of my favourite 90’s comedies!

You are correct that stationery is paper based. But it’s not just the paper, it’s things to write on paper, or things you can do to paper like laminate it or punch holes in it. People would also think about office supplies in general, because an office cupboard, like the one Mark and Dobbie had a compromising moment in, is often called a stationery cupboard.

The “re-create a classic computer game” task is one of the greatest tasks in the show’s history.

Have an important doctor appointment this morning and even dreamed I missed it. So nervous. But this has just really helped relax me and let go a little, thanks again for what you do. As someone who enjoys Taskmaster, I totally get it. It's easy to fatigue from the whole format. I think it's the wise thing to do to take a break. There are so many seasons, and if you're not careful, it does just get a chore to watch rather than the fun, light-hearted entertainment it should be.
