So glad Ive came back across to patreon to watch this and all the other things. I couldn't wait on the YouTube uploads 😂. I shall be kept busy in my free time Now 👌🏻 thanks #RegenerationNationTv
Twice when they were watching TV, I could hear the voices of two my favourite old comedians, Bob Monkhouse and Les Dawson. Brings back great memories.
Wait for the outtakes of this 😆
♥♥
Imagine if everyone was like Derek, what an amazing world this would be.
Nothing would get done.
Intimate relationship?! that's yucky!
'Up ya get'
Who are these wasters leaving negative comments on your videos? Fair play to you for responding to them. I love this show and I love your reactions. Can't wait for the rest of the series!
Keep your testicles cool, it helps with healthy semen? Nope. Semen comes from the prostate not the balls. She means the sperm.
I see a number of commenters suggesting that Ricky Gervais and Karl Pilkington fell out on this show. That's not my understanding at all. In interviews Pilkington and Gervais have discussed why he was written out a few times, because a scripted show stressed him out at the time. I don't know why people insist on injecting drama where there is none.
Did you say he's writing weird ass things for his girlfriend to do? Kerry Godliman has never been Ricky's girlfriend. He's been with Jane Fallon for about 45 years. She's a novelist.
Please watch the bloopers for this season. There’s a whole scene they couldn’t finish in the caravan 🤣🤣
The out-takes for Kev in the caravan are much funnier, they had to cut a lot because they just kept laughing.
I heard you say about Ricky writing weird stuff for his girlfriend. Just in case you thought it was Kerry Godliman isn’t Ricky’s girlfriend. Maybe I misheard but just wanted to clarify just in case you thought it was 😊
I did think that, so thank you
Sadly series 2 of Derek becomes a bit of the Kevin show and that's not a spoiler as I know you two both are astute enough to see that even from this episode , it's a shame because Rick's writing of the heartfelt moments in all his shows is what made his writing contribution the great part in his and Steves collaborations, his vulgar humor is fine in small doses as it is in all his works, sadly for Derek Ricky lost Karl from the cast ( translation Ricky screwed up the friendship like he did with Steve also) and he had to replace the Duggie lost moments with more of Kevin and it gets so repetitive that I found it desperate on Rick's part.
I'm really pleased you are reacting to this. The show never appealed to me and I've never watched it. I never would have either but I'm truly enjoying it. Thank you.
I felt exactly the same about Gavin and Stacey. I gave it a shot because of this channel. I ended up binging it all on my own, I thought it was so funny.
What I love about this show is how it goes from the most soul crushingly touching moments to hilarious ones in the next scene. It's like an emotional boxing match. Left hook of sadness, right hook happiness.
Ricky is really good at balancing the sadness with funny moments. It really does highlight how much humour can help with sadness and grief
Outtakes of this season are wild 🤣
"Shhh, Derek's asleep"
This is such an interesting show. Setting a show based in an elderly care home and make it interesting must be a challenge. It's resonated with me and made me think of my elders differently. Don't ignore them. They were once your age and you will be theirs. Sharing experience is the best thing you can learn from regardless of the world changing around you. This show made me realise that.
Gosh I love you two. That's all I came to say.
The outtakes of that caravan scene are hilarious
Please watch the deleted scenes after you finish the series. There's about 10mins of caravan scenes they couldn't finish due to laughing too hard
Alley cats next please!
If you don't shut it then I'll give ya what you want
Karl said that acting just wasn't for him, Derek was after all meant to only be 1 season, the same with Afterlife.
Karl found the acting life too stressful for him, it's not just turn up and do a scene and move on sorta thing. Ricky winding him up wouldn't have helped. I think it was a rubbish way to write him off, especially from a character perspective. But it's a short show, so time restraints for character and plot development. Like they'd have a character be nasty to an exaggerated level as you only have a few minutes of screen time at the most to have people hate that character instead of building it over an episode or whole series
That's what Ricky claimed... He said Karl was getting too worked up and stressed out with acting but nobody else has said that and Karl has acted loads of times after this show!... This was the last time they worked together and Karl was dropped from the friendship and work circle of Ricky... That's happened quite a few times with Ricky, so make of that what you will... Back to this show, even though I like the actor who replaced Karl in this show and respect and enjoy his other work, especially with Ricky, he is absolutely awful in this and it ruins the balance of the show a little for me, but it's still worth watching.
Until I started watching this, I didn't really realise that growing up without grandparents (Adopted Mum, Father's died) could be why I have a soft spot for the elderly and did carework in the community I lived. During Covid, they struggled getting things from the shops whilst people panic bought in droves. So I took them lots of toilet roll and soap, and realised I wouldn't be happy on a wage doing something people may respect, but doing what also brings me happiness too. I miss the works and the people terribly, so this is a nice little piece of therapy lol
"A tie is a fart in a hurricane when it comes to Kevin"
I genuinely can't wait for you to watch the outtakes, the caravan bit especially :D
22:35 "I would not do it in that caravan... she could get pregnant from HIM (Kev)" - reminds me of the Not Going Out episode where Lee thinks he somehow got Lucy pregnant just for sharing the same bath water lol. I never realised Dougie left early on, although I haven't seen this show in about a decade so my memory is obviously sketchy.
Great episode to remind us we don't need lots of money to be happy. Ricky is worth 100 million 😅
You’ll have to get around to Karl’s sitcom at some point. Was actually pretty good I thought.
I think it’s time to react to Derry girls. Love Derek but series 2 drops off
When you watch the outtakes, the ones from the caravan scene that was shown in this episode are the best outtakes you will ever see. Amazing!!!!!
The scene in the caravan had Mike not knowing what to do 😂😂😂
Great reaction as always guys
Mike where can you get them hoody's from please. I tried googling it and it takes me to a site called knowone asked for this, thank you

Really enjoy the show and enjoyed watching again with you both.. no over analysis , take it for what it is.. I got quite emotional and laughed, not many shows do that to me.. on a personal note I had a good relationship with my grandparents and fond memories but as with us all probably, I could have seen more of them.. I appreciate your natural unblemished reactions to this 🙏❤️
"A tie is a fart in a hurricane when it comes to Kev" is one of my favourite lines ever
Yeah i hated dougie going but karl didnt wan the stress
Oh shite, i made a comment about it being Karl's last episode — I didn't really think of it as a spoiler, but you're right, it's disappointing if you're expecting him to pop back up Sincere apologies 🙏 I definitely jezzed that up, a real jezzing
If I was actually that upset I'd let ya know. All good friend
That whole trying to conceive storyline thing make no sense what so ever.
While I love watching Mike and Jess daily I think it’s only fair that they should have at least one or two days off each week.
You do understand that the majority of their subs work 9-5? And Mike and jess get to do a couple of REACTIONS a day + editing, I'm not saying it's easy but what world do you live in where you think what they do for their money is hard lol
