Am I the only one who doesn’t find this remotely funny? Maybe no one wants to comment for fear of a backlash. I don’t mean this from a negative point of view just curious. It’s clear Mike & Jess love as well as others given the comment section but it’s really not my cup of tea at all. Tried to watch two episodes but I have no affinity with the characters and the humour is not hitting. It’s a shame as there are so many great British comedies. Would like to see Out Numbered for example. Anyway not bashing anyone it’s just my own opinion and clearly it’s here to stay. Really enjoying other shows like Gavin & Stacey and Only Fools. At the end of the day of Jess and Mike like it that’s the most important thing as it’s their channel.

I think you guys should watch Waterloo road- a uk British drama based in a school! Only the old seasons , the new ones are rubbish haha But yeah I think you guys would find the storylines really emotional 🥹

Have you guys heard of The Book Group? Set in Glasgow, with an American (Anne Dudek) having moved to the city and looking to make friends by starting a book group. Michelle Gomez is in it too (who brought out some serious laughs in Green Wing) as well as some other kent (known) faces. Worth adding to the list...

I work in a hospital along side surgeons an I can’t say anaesthetist either

I had a trawl about and found one of the writers in a 20th anniversary lecture on YouTube - since Jess and Mike were talking about it, the writers set the show up as a sitcom experiment (hence the hospital backdrop), it started as an extension of Smack The Pony and sketches but they wove them into the backdrop and hey presto… It feels sketch showy as mentioned so there you go - I thought it was such a good thought I’d pass it on… Enjoy the day people, Pip Pip…!

I have never seen this show. Enjoying it for the first time along with M&J and a few others. Never knew Olivia Colman did this these types of shows x

I was a bit gutted when you guys said u weren't gonna be continuing Taskmaster (hopefully not permanently), but Green Wing def makes up for it. I haven't seen it for ages. Forgot how utterly bizarre and unique it is and am loving your reactions to it. Makes the revisit even better. If u think the short, sketch-like gags are weird... Wait till some of the long-term story arcs really get going. Amazing!

O.M.G. Why have I never seen this show before? I think it must be that the frenetic editing on the first episode may have put me off watching more - could not BELIEVE the scene with Mark Heap and Pippa Haywood. When did this show first air? There would be warnings plastered all over it if they showed it today. It's absolutely mad but great. Thanks to whoever recommended M & J reacted to it. Looking forward to next week.

Well I have to put that scene with the nipples and music as one of the most insane things I have ever watched on tv. Until yesterday I was the scene with Kate Winslet in Extra where she (in a nun’s habit) and Ricky Gervais were going through sexual innuendos

The bit that seems to be tripping you up is the transition from the s to the th. Try separating the sounds. Sounding out ‘A-knees-the-tist’ will get you pretty close.

On your list of future Brit sitcoms is "Vicar of Dibley" on your radar. Yes it has a vicar at the heart of it and I repeat it is nothing like Father Ted as there is no comparison. It is very traditional in its construction but very funny and silly with off the wall characters. To help to persuade you both, it has Roger Lloyd Pack, Trigger "Only Fools and Horses " in it. Now if that doesn't wet your appetite well nothing will.
