I don't understand why this series is so highly regarded. It's ok but I thought series 6 was better.
I’m the same. I love all the seasons but I don’t rate this higher. Rhod can be a bit insufferable. There are some future seasons I prefer so I hope they return to it.
I still would have gone after Jessica, despite the gloves and the boa, I just love her personality.
You guys missed Jess dropping the ornament and subsequent reactions.
To be fair they do miss shit loads or just talk over stuff then get confused...
Spoilers ahead. . There’s a brilliant podcast with James and Rhod a few years after this where they talk about the shock in the room when Jess threatens to break the gift. Both Rhod and Gregg break character trying to save the gift, plus James says he was scared she’d rip up his calendar afterwards. I really hope at some point they release all the outtakes as I’d love to watch the panic in theirs faces.
dipping a greggs sausage roll in a tomatto soup is lovely
When Alex mentioned Phil 'languishing' it reminded me that the bloopers for this series are incredible!
I recently learned that James Acaster's wife left him for a man 25 years older than them - the man she left James for? Rowan Atkinson!
They were never married
So to explain why James got fireworks and Kerry didn’t, timing was everything. He did his task on 2nd November. In the UK, they celebrate Guy Fawkes night on 5th November. This is also known as bonfire night or fireworks night. There are fireworks sold everywhere on the lead up so the crew had a much easier time sourcing Hames some fireworks than they would have done for Kerry
"I'm going to use the word languishing..." Outtake https://youtu.be/RDpBzZNbaPM
Ha! Thought the exact same thing! The bloopers/outtakes for this series are excellent :)
Always hoped that Jeff didn't have to go out of his way to make time for his filming 'day' with Rhod.
Well, he got paid.
What have you done to your poor hand, Mike??
That "my wife, Nell..." delivery never fails.
Lube soup 🍲
You must be desensitised to near death experiences because a comedian throwing a javelin at another comedian, holding a flimsy bin lid, didn't seem to worry you at all 😂
That was fucking nuts
"So far, across the series, Kerry has absolutely demolished the competition, she has absolutely smashed it, but hand on heart, I like to tell the truth, that.... that was shit" - I love the poetry of it.
I heard that Jess dropped the ornament because Alex mouthed it to her silently during the celebration, lmao. And James was terrified that she would rip up the calendar.
James and Rhod discussed it on a podcast. Greg has a tradition of buying Rhods wife, Sian, ceramic cats. When Jess won and was playing with the prizes, she picked it up and asked the audience should she smash it, to which the audiebce replied "yeah". Greg and Rhod said "please don't smash it" and that they would be genuinely upset if she did. Jess then looked at Alex who silently nodded for her to smash it which she did. Both Jess and Alex have confirmed that happened. James then panicked that she was going to rup up his calendar Sian then made the Taskmaster team glue it back together. His sister who was also in the audience for that episode (her son made the calendar) was really worried that Jess was going to rip it. James begged her not to.
To this day I still don't know why Rhod got Alex to hold the loo roll. To bandage any incidental wounds?
In case he sh** himself.
