Bear in mind that prob 90% of cars in the uk are manual. And if u pass ur test in an automatic. All u can then drive is an automatic.

It is a problem that people over here are not taught to drive off road first, so that they aren't learning control of the car in traffic. In the old days our dad would take us to bits of open land where we could drive around, but that wouldn't be allowed now. Also most British drivers would have to learn manual transmissions as, in the past, only expensive cars here had automatic gearboxes. Once our brave new electric future arrives, though, those of us who can use a clutch will be as rare as those who can drive a steam engine 🙂
