Not really a TM fan, but a huge Rhod Gilbert fan so I'll watch this series :)
Fill the gap with men behaving badly. A show id completely forgot about but needs bringing back
A shame that you're pausing Taskmaster but totally understand - hope to see it back one day. End of Series 9 would have probably been a good out point as at that point it moved channel, Covid hit, and the feel of the show changed a bit for a few series.

Not too disappointed about a break. The competition is literally meaningless in this show like pretty much all british tv shows like this, that's why the tasks are ridiculous. These feel like they think we watch this to find out who wins. Most people I know couldn't tell you who wins at the end of the episode, that's when you go to make a cup of tea.

Once Taskmaster goes there is no reason for me to subscribe. I used to watch 6 days out of 7 as rhe viewing was so good. but once Taskmaster goes I will be down to 2 days worth of shows I like to watch. So it makes sense to move channels as others are offering better choice.. Sorry to go as I like Mike and Jess reactions but as a pensioner I need more xhoice as this keeps me going.

I know not everyone agrees, but i think you are doing the right thing taking a break. As much as it is one of my favourite shows, it is a lot to commit to. Personally I want you to enjoy it, and I think you will appreciate it more after the break. This series is such a blast and so chaotic, I look forward to watching you witness it for the first time.

I think they need to come up with a better system if they want to watch this maybe do episode 1, 5 and 10 in a series because it really is long

Yeh it's definitely a long slog to get through them all, however they've been an absolute blast to watch along with you (first time for most episodes for me). Hopefully you can come back at a later date, do a series here and there.
Anything after S16 isnt worth watching anyway but completely understandable. The engagement/Duration ratio is wild
S19, 20 and 21 are the best.
The story of BT (Big Ted) featured in one of Gregs comedy shows. It's why you can hear the audience giggling because they know where this is going.
I mean, it's the greatest season to end on at least. I will miss it, but I understand. We've got a lot to look forward to still for this one, so let's all enjoy it.

Last one laughing uk might be a good replacement, much shorter series wise (only 2) but still a fun and easy watch. Thank you for continuing for s7 though, I have been so excited for it. Really appreciate that guys

Apparently Rod really annoyed James throughout this season. That James didn't really like him, he was really stressed by him until the series came out and he was able to rematch it.
I think it’s a good decision IMO. Rotating shows used to keep things fresh. Stopping the rotating made a lot of sense for the sitcoms so you don’t lose that energy, but with something like Taskmaster… week in week out for 22+ series is A LOT 🥵 I’m not surprised you want to take a break. Besides, Taskmaster is the kind of you show you can dip in and out of as you please with there not being a character driven storyline. It’s not mandatory that you’ve got to watch every series as fast as possible!!
I think the decision makes sense too. By taking a break, they can come back to it whenever they want, without any pressure if they don't feel like doing so. I enjoy TM to a degree, but I can take or leave it, whereas OFAH, Peep Show, Still Game, Gavin & Stacey, IT Crowd and Friday Night Dinner were/are ones I cannot wait for.
I love the friendly Mike versus Jess Thursdays, they are so much fun, so maybe alternate TM with something else in a game show/panel show format: WILTY? Cats Does Countdown? QI?
I wouldnt mind going back to WILTY. CDC is ok.. Haven't watched QI in a while, but I do like it. Not sure its totally right for this format tho...
This is not one of my favourite series. It has some highlights sure, but certain “bits” go on FAR too long imo

Quite glad there's a break here, I do like this show but it don't find the reactions to be the same as watching something like OFAH or whatever.
I agree. My favourite reactions of theirs are shows that involve comedy, but also include emotional journeys. That's why I couldn't wait for them to get to Gavin & Stacey. The most recent episode of Only Fools and Horses is a prime example. We've shared the experience of seeing them watch Rodney grow from a baby-faced young lad to a married man, with all the struggles and heartaches in between. Taskmaster is fun, but there's something special about sharing those touching moments with them.
Don't blame you for taking a break from the show. Try something new and come back to Taskmaster when you both feel ready. Ive never watched Taskmaster before so im on the same journey as you guys. Although don't take to long in coming back, or it will be 2040 before you catch up 😉 (In Deadpools voice) we'll make you do this til you're 90 😆

Gutted you are taking a break but would rather you watched stuff you wanted to watch. Little suggestion for if you do return to TM - maybe you could do a poll for which seasons to watch. They don’t have to be done in order, and some are far better than others. Really hope you guys do return to it. Much love ✌🏻❤️

I think some of the later series even best this one. It's one of my favourites for sure but there are still plenty of great series to come. When mike and jess are ready of course
The previous series was a bit of a dud, it’s understandable to have some fatigue from the show after that. Hopefully this series shows you truly how great this show is and makes you want to get back to the following series as soon as possible

Absolute best series (shouldn't say that really), but the pettiness and competitiveness are at an all time high here arguably. So at least you've left it on this one for now

Aw, it's sad to be saying goodbye to Taskmaster Thursday after this season, but I understand it doesn't get as much engagement as other shows. I love watching it with you guys though. Celebrity Traitors UK would be a fun watch in its place, as it currently only has one season and you would recognise a lot of the contestants.

Why isn't there ever a break from OFAH or still game, they've gone on longer than TM
TM has double the runtime, more episodes per series and more series than OFAH and Still Game combined. I think that's what Mike meant when he said it's daunting which is pretty reasonable.
