Chapter 14.2 Status Report (5)
Hello there! It’s been a while since I last wrote to you, but work on the chapter is still moving forward. Even though it’s been a bit tough to make progress during the holiday season, I’ve pushed myself to get back to it with the goal of finishing it once and for all. I’m pouring all the focus I have into writing and untangling the script, which is why I often struggle to find the energy for status updates (and I’d rather have something more interesting to say than “I’ve kept working on the writing and the art”).
This chapter lends itself to many scenes and events that fit this setting perfectly and would be hard to introduce elsewhere, but I’m forced to focus on the most important ones. I want to flesh them out properly, even if that means letting go of others or giving them less space. On top of that, there are so many variables and possibilities intersecting that I often realize I need to go back and add or refine overlapping plot threads, making it possible for the same scene to play out in multiple ways and with different characters.
Giving a release date is always tricky, but I’m really eager to wrap up this chapter and move forward with the story. My goal is to release version 14.2 by the end of February, if everything goes smoothly. I’m currently writing the final main scenes and adding the last illustrations I feel are needed, and I already have about 80% of the art completed.
I’ve just started playtesting the first half of the content, so now it’s a matter of finishing the narratives, tying up loose ends, completing illustrations, coding animations, visual and audio assets, and testing that all the pieces fit together. With so many different moving parts, it’s hard to tell exactly how much production time is left, and that can be a bit overwhelming. Still, I trust this chapter will come together the same way all the previous ones have, and that I’ll soon be able to move on to chapter 15. Honestly, I really need that, but the finish line is finally coming into view.
As for the Steam release, we’ve kept working on it, and the platform has finally given its approval for the game to be published! I’ll be sharing more details soon about the release date, pricing, and everything else, but for now you can add it to your wishlist if you haven’t already. Even if you don’t plan on buying it there, wishlists really help with visibility at launch and with growing the Our Red String player community.
I feel like I’m probably leaving a few things out and I’m not sure this is the best post, but for now I’m getting back to the script. I really need to get this done, but I don’t want to half-ass it. Hopefully I’ll have it ready for you very soon! As always, thank you so much for your support and patience.

I am a nurse and my daily job is so stressful; this game lets me go into another life for a while. It helps me be refreshed and be my best self when I get back to work. Maybe that sounds crazy. But I wanted to let you know that the game isn't just some horny thing. At least for me, it is really good medicine.
Eva, have you thought about your patrons from Germany who will want to buy the game on Steam?! They won't be able to buy it, it will probably be blocked. Will it be possible for us to purchase or receive keys for Steam?!
Let's go Eva ! Can't wait to try it out, and I wish you'll find some scenaristic way to reduce some of the paths to help you move forward faster. In that way you'll get closer to the end of the story which (I think) would help get that accomplishment and all the mental weight out of your shoulders. I'm wondering, wouldn't it be possible to have some paths been tackled separately, in some "DLCs" ? I don't know but could be something like Lena x "some characters", following some route (Hollywood ? Europe, wtv), where the player has the choice to get on with it, but would be tackled after the finishing of the main plots ? Which would allow you to reduce the number of variations, still giving the player importants choices, but those will come later. And once you'll tackle them, you could simply focus on them ? Anyway, courage, you'll get there :)
Congrats on the Steam news! Quick question, will this chapter have content for Lena x Ian purists beyond phone calls? I still want to finish the game on that route before I branch out!
Yeah. Good News. I was missing a life sign. Can´t wait to see and taste your cooking
Glad to hear you're still with us. Looking forward to the next release. Hoping it's off the hook.
Thank for listening and giving an estimated release date. 👍🏻
Hi Eva, thanks for the update. The challenge posed by the game's complexity increases with each chapter. This makes it increasingly difficult, but if anyone can master it, it's you. Will chapter 14.2 conclude Billy's story, or will there be another perspective shift to Ian before chapter 15? ⚜️
I predicted late January - at the earliest - when you got done with the first part of this chapter. Late february is within a reasonable pace. so don't go beating yourself up about it. I'm looking forward to seeing what you've been cooking up so I hope for a proper tease in the next progress update! ;)
If things are how you say they are and there’re many events that take place in the most recent setting you’re doing yourself and us a service by taking your time with them Please continue to maximize quality without worrying about due dates so long as you can say with a clear conscience that you’re making a diligent effort the entire time
WOW! That is wonderful news! I can't wait for the Steam release. Is it going to be Early Access or do you plan to divide the game into seasons there? Don't feel bad about posting here. Simple 'I'm alive and still working on the game' is sufficient. Thank you for the heads up and please remember to take care.
