This is my least favorite episode of ST
This episode really didn't seem as bad as what fandom has decided. It isn't great but there was at least an early bit of mystery about what was going on and for the longest time I was playing with the theory this was all an elaborate hoax to entertain him for his birthday. I've seen worse.
But what did Quark symbolize!!!?
The audience's horror at the needless exposition throughout the episode
This episode is just kinda weird, didn't really connect with me. One of those high concept episodes that's just experimental more than anything.
If I were producing a TV show and someone said "First, we will need old person make-up..." I would immediately cancel the episode.
I kind of agree, 90s Trek was very hit or miss (usually miss) with old age makeup, but they we might not have The Inner Light and some others if we scrapped them altogether
