Sims 4 July Update Tea: The Good, The Bad, The Glitchy
A Sims 4 News Drop from Your Go-To Sims Gossip Source
💬 Hey Babes,
It’s been a minute, but you know I had to pop back in with all the Sims 4 tea. July came in hot with a massive base game update, tons of new CAS updates, Build/Buy features, actual UI improvements.
But let’s be real — would it even be a Sims update if it didn’t immediately try to ruin our lives? While we got shiny new features, we also got a fresh crop of bugs and glitches that are giving us all gray hairs. But first-
Base Game Update Breakdown
Weather Drama: FIXED
Indoor rain? Gone.
Snow in the kitchen? Gone.
CAS Updates
Occult eye colors now for regular Sims — so you can serve “haunted doll” vibes anytime.
Pointy ears for everyone — elf cosplay unlocked.
New headband (it’s cute but clips harder than your group chat receipts).
New Skin Effects tab — one free shiny skin option added to base game.
Colored eyelashes — 20 swatches to pick from. We love a rainbow lash era.
Dirty fingernails — for your messy gardeners living their off-grid fantasy.
Body hair texture improvements — less Sharpie scribble, more grown-up body hair energy.
Build/Buy Upgrades
Glass walls — Sims 2 greenhouse girlies, your time has come.
Rooftop greenery — 35 new objects that actually follow the roof slopes. We’re finally in our Pinterest cabin era.
UI & Gameplay Upgrades
Better notebook — finally not looking like it was designed in 2009.
Personal bios — your legacy Sims can now overshare, officially.
Collections menu facelift — icons, counters, and an aesthetic glow-up.
Inventory stacking & filters — no more mystery spoiled cheese living rent-free.
Gardening upgrades — “Fertilize all” and “Evolve all,” plus hover tooltips. Nature girlies rejoice.
Gnome Movement
Gnomes can now wander around on their own. They are fully in their villain era and I am terrified.
Bug Fixes
Indoor weather bug gone (for real this time).
Townie names got a diversity glow-up.
Eyedropper tool and Build/Buy category fixes — you can actually find things now.
Missing objects are back where they belong. Love that for us.
Let’s break it all down: the petty, the messy, and the “oh, that’s definitely broken.”
The Sims 4 Issues and Glitches: July 1st Patch
Whiteboard? Vanished.
That Hobby Whiteboard from Businesses & Hobbies? It said, “I’m out.” Players are reporting it disappearing completely and refusing to be placed again. Across PC and Console. Cute.
Dragging to Trash or Sink? Disabled.
Your lazy drag-and-drop cleanup era is over — for now. After this patch, you can’t drag plates, leftovers, or even baby diapers to the bin or sink anymore. You’ll actually have to tell your Sims to clean up like it’s 2014. We’re all crying.
No Pregnancy Test Drama
Your Sim might be pregnant, but you’ll just have to wait and see. The option to take a pregnancy test has straight up disappeared, leaving Simmers in suspense until the first trimester. It’s giving “we find out when we find out” vibes.
Other Reports and Chaos
The forums are lighting up with smaller bugs and weirdness, but these three are the major headline makers right now. EA is allegedly investigating, so fingers crossed.
That’s the Glitchy Tea
I’ll keep lurking for updates (and more drama), and you know I’ll be back here to break it all down the second or minute it drops.
More later besties,

They basically broke every pregnancy mod.
I honestly feel bad for mod creators; while they improve and fix gameplay, they also have to deal with this... fixing basic functionality in the game that shouldn't be broken in the first place.
Thank you so, so much for the heads up, as always! 🤍✨
🤍🤍🤍
Thank you so much for the heads up. Not overly worried yet we shall wait and see.
You're welcome babe! (^.^)🤍
I thought it was just my game having issues not being able to drag the dishes to the sink 🥲
Unfortunately, we're all in this together 🤧
