Hazelnut Latte v0.15 Progress Report 11/25/25

Hello everyone, and welcome to this week's progress report!

We are now shifting focus to two things on the coding front:

Creating an options menu and compiling the episode.

The options menu is obviously a very important thing to make. Ren'Py had one made for us, but now we need to do it ourselves, which means we have full control. This week, we are figuring out what we want in there and then how to implement it. This bar is sorta married to the one below it, but it's a big enough project that it needs attention.

The second big thing is compiling the episode's scenes. We have a stopping point in the episode, where we want to get everything in place and working before doing the last chunk. There are 5 major scenes/locations in Episode 1, so we want to focus on completing the first 3.

The secret system saw some more progress, though we actually added some new stuff for that, so originally this was going to be at 88% but with the new things, it's at 72%, which is still good progress! Koth is actually taking a break from this to do some other work, because...

We have officially decided to redo how we present animations. This means starting over, sort of. We want to do it right, and the new way will save space and give us more control over lewd scenes, instead of playing and looping huge video files. This doesn't set us back at all, really, since we only had 2 animations done, and one of them needed to be edited anyway since we redid Estros. Not to mention, Koth is going to be working more hours to help animate these lewd scenes. My hero <3

Total lewd scenes went down since we moved one of the scenes to Episode 2. The final 2 sprites needed for Ep 1 are being sketched, and we are going through iterations to perfect them. A new background was completed, and the next one is already being staged.

So progress has been nice! Everyone has been absolutely killing it, and I have something special I've been negotiating that I still can't comment on, but I think it's going to work out. Not to mention, work has been made on the secret project, so hopefully I'll do an update on that soon. I've been chipping away at writing Episode 2 while also planning ahead, especially regarding Jade City.
