Fruits Basket is one of my favourites. But there’s an anime called Orange that has similar messages about embracing life and friendship. You’ll need the tissues for that one though 😅

A good anime you guys should watch about gangs is Tokyo Revengers, and Windbreaker!

I also come from a family who’s involved with bloods and crips, also almost went down that path, glad I didn’t!

Anime similar to Fruba in its emotional depth and slice-of-life qualities would be Horimiya, Kimi ni Todoke, March Comes in Like a Lion, Orange, Ao Haru Ride, Anohana, Clannad and Clannad: After Story, Nana, and possibly Oshi no Ko. Some of these explore heavier, more mature themes of life than others, while some are more light-hearted.

One thing I love about watching people reacting to Fruba is that they all share so many stories of their own as they watch the series along the way. Stories that are relatable and emotional, stories that help me see them more than just reactors, but like real human beings who truly watch the series with me. You can hardly say that towards series that people just be screaming over aura farming😆

I would say some animes that are similar to this to me are March Comes in like a lion, Kono no tomare, Kids on a slope and Nana. Nana isn't as optimistic, but very mature and real.
