how is this watched over Arcane ._.
because it’s a better show
Ahhh, u guys have finally been introduced to the foaming screamer! One of my faves, next to the cabbages dude😁😁🤣🤣
I like this episode a lot because in any other show it could just be filler. The gang goes to a random place, the bad guy follows, lessons are learned—but the status quo doesn’t change much. But here we get added lore to the universe, as we learn about Avatar Kyoshi and add the Kyoshi Warriors as characters that could come back. We also get a ton of personal growth as Aang realizes the weight of his responsibility for the first time, and sees the damage that he causes because he wants to goof around for one day. But he’s also like… 12. The Sokka arc was cool too. It’s a good lesson in a kids show—last episode we got showing honor in defeat from Uncle, this episode we got a lesson on how it’s okay to admit you were wrong, change your perspective, and humble yourself enough to learn from people who know more than you. That’s honestly a crazy amount of character development for a 20 minute kids show.
Aang has one huge advantage as the last Airbender. No one alive has practiced against or knows how they fight, and you cannot see their attacks like you can the other elements. We only see them because we need to as viewers but it's well...wind. They are very evasive in how they fight, being pacifist monks, which is unusual for an opponent to deal with as well.
10:10 This choreography the Kyoshi warriors are using is a real martial arts forms focused on redirecting the opponents energy and attacks so a weaker opponent can defend against them. Aikido and Tessen. Firebending is based on Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, known for dynamic, explosive attacks, long-range kicks, and whirling circular blocks. Airbending is rooted in Baguazhang, an internal martial art that relies on constant circular footwork, evasion, and momentum manipulation rather than force.
the animation at 3:51 is killing me hahaha
If you guys are interested in novels, there are books about Avatar Kyoshi. Very good. About her upbringing and whatnot. And they’re mature novels
This isn't really spoilers btw. Not everyone in this show ages normally. Some people have lived for a very long time, and Avatar Kyoshi was one of them. She was the Avatar before Roku, who was before Aang. And yeah, some people don't have bending.
I’m so happy y’all decided to watch this series. Buckle up this is one of the greatest animated shows ever for its time. I hope yall enjoy ❤️🔥
Ugh ... even though I am grateful for the 4 episodes this week... I can't help but crave more lol ... thanks guys!
watched avatar as a kid on nickelodeon and forgot how badass aang is😭
Ay I haven’t watched Avatar Last Airbender in my life just yet but whoever recommended this, I know you are hella goated. It’s something so different than the usual. Animated, funny, charming. Amazing recommendation you’re legit goated.
one of us! one of us!
Yes avatar kyoshi was a earth bender and these are technically earth nation people they just don’t bend
That town was part of the earth nation. As you've figured out not everyone in each nation can bend elements. Each nation has regular people as well. Kyoshi was an earth bender so members of the earth nation would honor her. Also the fire nation is very technologically advanced as well because of their experimentation with fire. They have ships etc etc that run on fire and coal engines. Its awesome going forward to see each nations technology.
Sokka goes through more character development in a 20min episode than some do in entire shows🤣
Loving the 2 episodes per day 🔥🔥
ooh avatar again back to back days?? bless up!! since the eps are shorter i do hope they can binge these quicker and get more eps out.
