EmuDeck ROM Launcher - Quick Update
Hi everyone!
Just wanted to share a quick video of how the launcher is going, the theme is temporary just as I test the functionality. Some remarks:
- The launcher reads all of your games on first launch, so first launch takes some seconds.
- You can see how fast the launcher opens once that first launch is complete for a collection of 70 games.
- The rom images / names are parsed automatically as you navigate your collections, this still needs more work as you can see some games are not being recognized.
- Although is not shown in the video, launching games work too :)
- Completely responsive, You can find attached a couple of screenshots of how it will look like in a 640x480 screen in a device like the Retroid Pocket 2+:
The idea is to use our own launcher for easy mode, and more advanced users will be able to chose between ours, EmulationStationDE and Pegasus.
What features would you like to have in the launcher that you don't already have on EmulationStationDE or Pegasus?

Idk I have a ROG ally. Ive dealt a technology my old life from modding phones and j tagging Xboxes and I’m very familiar with max and windows and formatting drives to have both. I don’t rly think I’m tech savvy but I’m pretty smart. But; it’s fine. Life’s really hard rn emu deck will be fun to play at a later time I was able to get most of it to work actualy but I can’t even enjoy it bc I’m too busy trying to find work lol. Life needs to get better

Ok, I fixed the controller, but why is the lag so bad on a twenty year old game omg
try a diff rom i got no issues till i hit switch
I joined the patreon thinking it would help, but I have a brand new ROG ally and I can’t even run an old GBA game without lag and without recognizing controls. No way to know how to fix online either, feeling dumb.
do you have a FPS limit enabled?
Never used Pegasus before but I miss being able to change the sorting of systems in the UI like you can in JELOS. And being able to check or uncheck which systems show up is pretty great too.
Looks great and that load time is amazing. I would say that's the one issue I have with ES it takes a while to load up. Can't wait for this release! Great work! Will this be available as a stand alone for android handhelds?
the original idea was to use this for Android yeah, but that's still far in the horizon
