January Project Round-Up

New year, who dis? I started 2025 off with comics, essays, and quilting- so nothing much's changed in my life priorities from the previous year, I guess.

Alright, on to my assortment of bullshit that I got up to in January:

Completed at last! Dr. Emily Nagoski hired me to adapt a portion of her sex science book Come Together into comics for her to use when she's giving presentations on it. In this comic, I explain the basics of the Emotional Floor Plan and demonstrate how couples in long term relationships can use it to maintain their sexual connection.

A Letter to January Erika

In the winter of 2024, I wrote a letter to my future self in January 2025. Here is that letter, plus a big long thing about the time I unintentionally rawdogged uterine surgery without any painkillers.

Reading Magic (Audio!)

Here's a first: I recorded myself reading my essay so y'all don't gotta read the entire friggin' thing I wrote with your poor tired eyeballs. So just hit play and listen to me wax rhapsodic about learning to read in English, learning to read in French, and learning to read with the guidance of mothers.

2020 in Quilt

In 2020, I started a hand sewn quilt to document each month of the year. Turns out, that was quite the fortuitous year to document! Here we are, five years later, and I've finally finished it. It turned out pretty cool, tbh.

Patreon x Lucy Bellwood x Erika Moen

Patreon liked the recommendation I wrote about Lucy Bellwood's account and asked to use it as a promotional thing on Instagram. They originally put together their own picture slides, but then Lucy and I were like "Heeeeyyyyy... We're professional Image-Story-Makers...What if.... we made our own version?" SO WE DID and then Patreon used it as their official post.

Speaking of my Belove'd Bellwoo, I got to have a tiny catch up with her when she stopped by Portland last week and I savored every moment. Here is the one picture of us together that we took for our equally belove'd and missed Danielle Corsetto:
