Swindler's Shoe
Greetings adventurers!
Those who deal cards in shady backrooms across the lands are always of dubious repute, but there is none worse than those that will never deal a fair hand in their lives. They’re always looking for a way to get an edge up and even when a fight breaks out, they’re still trying to get the upper hand. I won this very device from one such grifter that bet it against my sword. Turns out if you know the game well enough, you can still get an upper hand even on them. Or just do what I did and cheat more.
Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

Design notes from Matthew:
This one was actually quite a little challenge to put together in a way that made sense and stayed within the balance that I try to park our items at which is useful and unique but not overshadowing already available options in the game that do something similar. One of the harder parts about this is that there’s not really anything like this that I could find in 5E or PF2E. Sure we have the deck of many things, but that’s a very different level of risk and reward than I wanted this to be.
It ended up that I basically had to put a daily draw limit on it as otherwise it would just be a no brainer to constantly spam a card from it. I like the idea of being able to quickly grab a card during your turn and the random nature of it shuffling each time keeps it interesting in what you might get out of it each time. You can pull hoping for the right thing, but knowing that you’ll get something useful regardless as each suit has something beneficial.
I generally like items that can serve a more mundane purpose along with also serving their magical purpose and that’s what I was aiming for with this also just being a normal dealer’s shoe that can clip on to your belt. I can think of a number of character archetypes that would likely want something like this just for the dealer’s aspect alone.
This is our last magic item release for the month of January and we’ve also got our One More Thing coming up later today where we’ll be putting out an NPC archetype we’ve been working on called The Grifter. We hope you’ve enjoyed another month of content as much as we’ve enjoyed making it for you.
We highly encourage you to join our Discord server where you’ll get access to exclusive channels that have sneak peeks, behind the scenes chatter, and more.

The design is cool, really cool! But, It feels quite odd to me that this effet could be obtainable from a simple 4 faces dice instead of this whole set of cards. I mean, just changing the "magic shuffle" could drastically change the item. It may re-shuffle only when the Last card is drawn? This way, the more the cards are drawn the more the lasts cards can be predicted. At the end, the cards can be shuffled again? Anyway, I like your creations and I think my players will put theirs hands on one item of your collection!
Thanks for the feedback. We've been at this for quite awhile, but I'm always happy to hear from more folks on what they're looking for.
