Rock Candy
Greetings adventurers!
It’s no secret that I can have a bit of a sweet tooth from time to time. I think that one ought to have the right measure of enjoyment in life and a little saccharine delicacy can be just that in the right mindset. That said, I’ve often bemoaned the lack of nutritional or practical value in confections and candies. That’s why I set about making my own formula that can actually provide something of value when eaten. I’m sure this is just the start for my candy making career. Who knows how far we can push the boundaries of what can be accomplished with sugar.
Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

Design notes from Matthew:
I couldn’t believe it when we discussed it, but we’ve really only made one candy themed item before. I mean we’ve had a few items with candy on or around them, but I’m talking about a straight up consumable candy that granted magical benefits. It seems like we just keep finding more and more pockets of things that we didn’t explore and that’s kind of what I love about the creative aspect of this whole AB thing. We can just try so many new things and seemingly never run out.
These were a relatively straightforward design, but as always I approach them trying to make the best item for each system. Resistance is pretty common in the 5E world so stretching this out for an hour of duration didn’t really feel like that much of a problem. There are tones of other damage types that can certainly pose a threat regardless. The blending with stone thing was actually a last minute thought I had when I wrote the changes to character’s skin when using it. Love those last minute ideas.
For the PF2E side, you’re looking at having to do a lot more controlling of how much and what resistance is present. Adamantine is also an important thing to take into consideration as it’s specifically meant to be a lower level way to deal with resistance. There’s always a lot of angles to consider with PF2E items and often times, the best approach is just having played the system a lot and reading it even more. Sadly there’s no substitute for slowly gained knowledge.
I’m already missing spooky month but that’s alright, we have plenty more to take on this month and we always have plenty more ideas to explore. It’s been another great your of creating and as we approach our next anniversary in December, I can’t help but feel a little nostalgic and proud of what we’ve made here with your support.
We highly encourage you to join our Discord server where you’ll get access to exclusive channels that have sneak peeks, behind the scenes chatter, and more.
