Download MineFortress 1.15.0-beta - Roam your Fortress!
Hey everyone! The new MineFortress update is finally here. I had planned many more features for this release, but I realized that you’d have to wait another two months to see them all implemented. As I mentioned before, I’m working hard to get back on track with regular releases, so I decided to launch this relatively small update that still offers some cool new features and removes several annoying issues.
What’s New:
Roam Around Your Fortress!
One of the most anticipated features is here: the ability to roam around your fortress! Now, you can click on your campfire in Fortress mode and then click the button on one of the tabs to be teleported to the campfire in Survival mode. Simply right-click on the campfire in Survival mode to return to Fortress mode.
The craftsman unlocked right after the fotress setup
No need to be confused with the crafting table anymore. The craftsman is now bound to campfire as profession and is unlocked as soon as you setup your campfire.
Streamlined Gameplay
I’m continuing my efforts to make MineFortress more intuitive:
All hiring now takes place inside buildings and follows a unified set of rules.
You must pay different resources for each pawn in your fortress.
There is no longer a way to remove a pawn from its profession.
These changes ensure that all professions behave consistently and make it clearer how to utilize them.
More Reasonable Villager Capacities for Buildings
There were many complaints about how every building added 10 pawns to the village, making it overcrowded and unplayable very quickly. I have significantly tweaked the capacities, so now most buildings add only 2 pawns, and you must upgrade the buildings to increase this number. Try it out and let me know what you think!
Technical Change
In the early days of MineFortress, I made a poor decision by creating a custom, self-implemented system for managing the fortress state. As a result, it became flaky, unstable, and prevented me from overhauling other systems such as the profession and resources systems. To address this, I moved all fortress logic into a block entity, known as the Fortress Campfire. The campfire block is now the heart of your village—if it’s removed, everything stops working.
These are the main changes. I also fixed some small bugs along the way, although I might have forgotten to mention them all. Enjoy the update and happy gaming!
