Download MineFortress Beta 1.14 - Revamped Building System and Blueprint Overhaul!
IMPORTANT UPDATE: The initial release contained a critical bug that prevented the game from starting. I’ve fixed the issue and updated the version to 1.14.1. Thank you for your understanding!
Hey everyone! 👋
Finally, after a lot of work, this MineFortress update is something big! I know that I keep getting caught up with ambitious ideas that turn a simple update into a massive overhaul, but this time you will be happy with the result!
Creating these massive updates for MineFortress takes a lot of time and passion, and I absolutely love doing it. If you're enjoying the new changes and want to support the future of the mod, support it here on Patreon! Every little bit helps me continue creating the best fort-building experience for all of us.
Building Overhaul: Intuitive and Powerful
So, what’s all this big fuss about? Well, I've been doing a lot of work with the building system, and trust me, it’s completely different now. Remember those old menus where all you could do was smash a building down? Gone! Now, every time you click a building, you'll be greeted with a brand new, really clear menu that tells you all the crucial info. You'll see things like how healthy the building is, how many pawns it can support, what new jobs it can unlock, and what level the building has currently achieved.
Workforce Management: Simpler Than Ever
And speaking of pawns, I’ve made hiring way simpler and less confusing. All recruitment is now done through the building menu, so no more searching for where to get your workforce. Also you can see if new pawns will require any payment before hire, so you can plan ahead.
Building Upgrades: Level Up Your Settlements!
And yes! Buildings can now be upgraded! I know so many of you have been waiting for that. You’ll see the upgrade button in the building’s menu. For now, I am giving you a few levels by default, but I will continue adding more ways to upgrade your base.
Blueprint System: A Visual and Informative Journey
The blueprint menu has also seen some improvements. Now you will find workshops, living houses and decoration in three clear tabs. You can also see the specific item icons on the building slots that tells you exactly which profession they can unlock. And to make it even easier, you'll see important info directly in the blueprint menu, things like, what new professions they unlock and how many pawns they can support.
Campfires: Now Part of the Building System
Oh, and the campfire? It's part of the building system now too. While you can't upgrade it just yet, this is something I plan on adding in upcoming updates!
The Tough Love Part
Okay, first, a little bit of tough love – this upcoming release is going to drop backward compatibility. That means all your old worlds won’t work with the new update. I know, ugh! I debated this with myself for ages, believe me, but honestly, trying to keep those old worlds working has been holding me back from doing some really cool stuff. So, I had to make a call – this overhaul is pretty massive, and going forward, I want to focus on adding new, ambitious features without the weight of the past holding me back. It’s like a fresh start for all of us, a chance to start from scratch.
