Part 1

This startled Xiao Yifeng greatly. He gave a bitter smile and said,  “Senior Sister, does this count as deceiving one’s master and destroying one’s ancestors?”

“That sort of man does not deserve to be my Martial Granduncle,” Su Miaoqing snapped. “He even intended to make me his Daoist companion!”

Xiao Yifeng had been completely unaware of this matter, though it was not beyond his expectations. After all, it was he who had deliberately guided Grandmaster Qingxu’s thoughts in that direction. Had he raised the idea himself, the old fox would certainly have grown suspicious.

Xiao Yifeng noticed that beside Qingxu’s remains lay a long sword. The sword was entirely white, and he faintly felt a sense of bloodline connection with it.

At his beckoning gesture, the sword rose from the ground and flew into his hand. He gently drew it from its sheath, and a chill spread through the air. The blade appeared as though it had been forged entirely from ice. Upon the sword’s body, two large characters in ancient seal script were inscribed: Obsidian Snow.

“Is this the inherited treasure of our Boundless Horizon Palace, the Obsidian Snow Sword?” Su Miaoqing asked curiously.

Xiao Yifeng nodded. “It should be.”

He then walked over to the corpse of Grandmaster Qingxu. From one of the skeletal fingers, he removed a ring and handed it to Su Miaoqing with a smile.

“This ought to be everything Qingxu left behind. Take it back and give it to Master.”

Su Miaoqing accepted the ring and nodded with a smile. “They’re all treasures of our Boundless Horizon Palace.”

Su Miaoqing looked at him suspiciously and said warily, “You can wield the Obsidian Snow Sword, and you treat his corpse so well. Don’t tell me you’re actually that old fellow.”

Xiao Yifeng’s expression stiffened, dark lines practically forming over his head. He gave a helpless smile. “Senior Sister, what would convince you? Forcing the soul out of the body is really hurt. A small mistake might cause my soul to disperses completely.”

She could not hold it in and burst into laughter. “I was only joking.”

After seeing his Soul Body, she didn't doubt him anymore. A Soul Body and its aura could not be faked. Possession was ultimately false. As for why he could wield Obsidian Snow, Xiao Yifeng already carried enough secrets. One more made little difference.

Looking around, he noticed four more corpses lying nearby. Each still gripped their respective weapons. Two were high-grade immortal swords, one long blade had already snapped in half, and there was also a mid-grade immortal artifact flute used by a woman.

Xiao Yifeng collected the items one by one. He then suddenly noticed that the clothing on the female corpse looked somewhat unusual. With a light touch, he discovered that it was in fact a piece of treasured clothing of mid-grade immortal artifact rank.

“Senior Sister, this suits you!” Xiao Yifeng laughed. “At the very least, you won’t have to worry about burning your clothes away every time you go all out and running around naked, letting others take advantage.”

Hearing this, Su Miaoqing shot him a glare, but still obediently accepted the treasured garment. To her surprise, the garment could even alter its outward appearance, filling her with delight. She immediately pricked her finger and bound it with blood.

The dress transformed into a streak of light and wrapped itself around her, becoming a long green gown. Su Miaoqing looked it over and smiled in satisfaction. She spun around once and asked, “Does it look good?”

“It looks good. Senior Sister looks good in anything,” Xiao Yifeng laughed, though his thoughts involuntarily drifted to how she looked without clothes. He sighed inwardly. Even without them, she still looked good.

“Senior Sister, you should remove the scar on your lower abdomen. For a young lady, keeping it is rather unsightly,” Xiao Yifeng said.

Hearing this, Su Miaoqing’s pretty face flushed slightly. She gave a soft “mm,” then said in embarrassed annoyance, “Didn’t you say you didn’t see anything?”

“Just a tiny bit! Only a tiny bit, I didn’t see anything else!” Xiao Yifeng swore earnestly.

“Xiaofeng, you’re insufferable. You clearly saw everything, yet you stubbornly insist it was only a little. Now I won’t be able to marry. You’re taking responsibility!” she huffed.

Senior Sister, there is absolutely no correct answer to that, he lamented inwardly.

“Senior Sister, look!” Xiao Yifeng hurriedly changed the subject.

Su Miaoqing walked over with visible displeasure. Upon closer inspection, she discovered that among the four sets of mortal remains, one pair had their hands tightly clasped together. One skeleton was larger, the other smaller, likely a man and a woman.

Each of the two skeletons wore a ring. The rings formed a matching pair, similar in design. One was black, carved with a dragon; the other white, engraved with a phoenix. Their style was ancient and unadorned.

Xiao Yifeng bent down and removed the pair of rings. To his surprise, they were actually a pair of mid-grade immortal artefacts, and it was clear they possessed a combined attack capability.

He had not expected to find such a treasure. Immortal artefacts in the form of rings were exceedingly rare, let alone a matched pair of mid-grade quality.

“These should be immortal artefacts designed for combined techniques, and they also function as storage rings. Quite a fine treasure. Senior Sister, you keep them,” Xiao Yifeng said, handing them to Su Miaoqing.

Su Miaoqing, however, passed the male ring back to him with a smile. “We’ll keep this pair for ourselves as our own reward. This one is yours.”

“Senior Sister, you should keep it. You can save it as part of your dowry in the future,” Xiao Yifeng said.

“If I tell you to take it, then take it! Otherwise I’ll beat you, you know!” Su Miaoqing said in a fierce yet childish tone.

Unable to argue with her, Xiao Yifeng could only put the ring on his finger. Su Miaoqing also put on her ring and looked at him with satisfaction.

Xiao Yifeng did not know whether to laugh or cry. Wearing a pair of lovers’ rings with his Senior Sister… What on earth was this?

“Senior Sister, when you marry in the future, I’ll return this to you as a wedding gift,” he said with a smile, thinking to himself that it would be a bargain for Xuan Yi.

“Mind your own business,” Su Miaoqing said unhappily, kicking him lightly.

Xiao Yifeng did not dare provoke her further. After glancing around to make sure nothing had been overlooked, he turned his attention seriously to the stone stele of the Immortal Palace.

He stepped forward, placed his hand upon the stone stele, and said, “This should be the Immortal Palace’s stabilising stele.”

“Then if we refine this object, wouldn’t we be able to control the entire Immortal Palace?” Su Miaoqing’s eyes lit up.

“You’re thinking too simply, Senior Sister. Even that fellow Grandmaster Qingxu spent several hundred years trying to refine it without success, let alone the two of us,” Xiao Yifeng replied, far less optimistic.

He closed his eyes and infused a strand of his spiritual imprint into the stone stele. Suddenly, the stele emitted a glow, and he felt a connection between it and his own consciousness.

“Possess three or more Samsara Steles to obtain partial control of the Immortal Palace.”

Xiao Yifeng was stunned. The Samsara Stele actually had such a function?

After Xiao Yifeng told Su Miaoqing, she was momentarily stunned. She stepped forward and tried it herself, only to find that there was no response at all.

Xiao Yifeng finally understood why Grandmaster Qingxu had failed to refine the Immortal Palace. It turned out he did not possess more than three Samsara Steles either. This was essentially a password lock.

When Xiao Yifeng pressed the stele again, it emitted light and projected countless images, showing scenes from different areas of the Divine Temple.

“It’s them! They’ve entered the Immortal Palace as well!” Su Miaoqing exclaimed.

Xiao Yifeng also noticed that they were searching for treasures inside the grand hall while simultaneously evading pursuit by the strange figure.
