Episode 33: The Jaguar 6000SUX
Hello! In this episode of Tran Girlismo, the girls start off with some fun stuff. The car meet that Mosé Auto and Drive Deviant put together was a success, and Vicki had fun meeting some of y'all there! Next, W O R L D R A L L Y C H A M P I O N S H I P R E T U R N S ! ! ! After nearly four decades, America is finally enough of a pariah state once more for FIA to bestow us with a WRC event.
Next, the girls dive into the hot new electric car of the week, the Jaguar Type 01. It's... it's fine. It feels like it's been one million years since the ad campaign for it launched, though. Finally, more oil, as ol' Donnie throws Ukraine further under the bus for a completely trivial amount of diesel before the midterms. Vicki wrote the notes for this one. Did you think you were going to escape The Oil?
As always, our opening theme is off Stella Spazzatura's Horse Tranquilizer Simulator and our fantastic editor (who is available to edit your show, too!) is the lovely Alex/Harmful Park!

Aw hell yeah, I'd love a FF7 bonus episode
Discovering this podcast with impeccable timing allowing me to announce that the eagles nest (not the garage) has been destroyed in a spectacular conflagration of the purest Aryan flames
Speaking as a someone who recently moved from East Nashville to (undisclosed nearby location) you're absolutely right about the place, next time you find yourself out here you should stay at my house so you won't have to give any money to the billionaire weenietown.
@jordan I likely just totaled my 2012 Acura TSX and am thinking about getting an EV. Any used EV suggestions? I’d ask Vicky, but I don’t think she’s come out in favor of any EV so far. 27 leftist male living in a rented townhome with garage where I could charge. Mostly straight. Can discuss on the pod if interested.
loving the show as always, but it is starting to get frustrating listening to an ad spot every week for a patreon i already subscribe to, served by an rss feed provided by that same patreon -_-
We can try and remove it going forward, I'm sorry about the frustration!
Vicki-bait (lol) TG shirts in the pod store plz! :))
The Jaguar Type 00 launch and Copy Nothing ad was actually launched a few weeks after the 2024 election, in early December 2024. It was brutal, it went up, and the chuds were even more emboldened than normal to tell you exactly how they felt about it (and why they were somehow victimized by it).
Victoria got me to finally read 'The Jakarta Method' and I don't think I've ever loathed my country more
do shave all
Double whammy is finding out young both yall are and was interesting to hear thoughts of Nashville from someone in Washington 😅
I lived in Texas for a while, so did Jordan!
The Jaguar is being ridiculed in the UK press, its too large for the majority of European parking spaces so predictee to be impractable on this side on the Atlantic.
Ooh, are we hatin’ on Dallas? Great. Not only is it a true cess pit, The City of Hate itself, but I as a teen/young adult was forced to descend into that loathsome domain if I wanted to see any of the good concerts. Navigating that labyrinthine testament to man’s hubris that Dallas calls a highway system could be its own circle in Dante’s hell, but Maiden was worth it.
I have this theory that Nashville is the cis chud Seattle.
You've heard of red diaper babies, but have you heard of NPR babies?
FYI progestogen is the larger class of hormone of which progesterone is one
PWHL MENTIONED!!!!!
Am I crazy? That matte gray, the blocky angles, and something about how the back of the hood angles into the flat rectangle of the rear, the Jaguar looks like the cyber truck's cousin to me
Looking at the most recent press photos: I would bet real money that during the pitch someone wrote “CyBeRtRuCk” on the whiteboard, erased “tRuCk,” wrote “cAr,” and then everyone clapped.
I’m from Memphis originally, the reason Memphis has such major issues is because the state government has been systematically since desegregation taking funding from Memphis to give to Nashville.
Jaguar mentioned? OH BOI it's my time to shine! Working at a dealership for nearly eight years now it’s been frustrating how boardroom-bubble-brained corporate management has seemed. Reading between the lines, it looks like when the iPace came out in 2018 (alongside all those headlines of Volvo and other manufacturers ceasing internal combustion engine development), the long term plan was to make Jaguar an all-electric brand. With the iPace having so many teething troubles and the company seemingly on cruise-control throughout COVID, somewhere along the line Jaguar kind of got…forgotten about? The mindset seemed to be, through various management changeups, that when that All-Electric XJ came out, things would sort themselves out. Then the issues with the iPace kept piling up, and that whole architecture got scrapped. Then the Ingenium inline-6 engine replaced the shared-architecture V6 and V8 starting in 2020 and it was too big to fit under a sedan’s hood, leaving only the turbocharged Ingenium 4-cylinder and a small late-run of supercharged V8s to power the last of the XF and F-Types. Why they didn’t keep making the cash-cow F-Pace with both Ingenium engines and the E-Pace (sharing chassis with the Land Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport) with the 4 is beyond me, as they would at least have served as “volume-seller” bridge models until the decade-in-development “electric XJ replacement” finally debuted. Well, that wound up being the Type 00 concept/Type 01 production, but by now…who cares, I suppose? Jaguar was cool, but in a mahogany-lounge, leatherbound books, oversized mustache, adulterer sort of way. How they decided on an advertising campaign that seemed to be targeted at woke billionaires who vacation on Fhloston Paradise is WILD to me! A $130k price, given feature creep and “$30K base-model Civic syndrome” working its way up the food chain doesn’t surprise me. With big electric cars, nearly half the price is the enormous battery required to move them. …At least it’s not the $300k Bentley competitor they floated two years ago. /TedTalk

I'm a big fan of "Stein's Law" as the name for the segment but pretty much nobody will get it.
In the CO ski town where I grew up, one of the on-mountain food halls was called "Eagle's Nest" and it cannot possibly be an accident because at least one(if not both) of the founders of the resort was a WWII vet; but for the life of me I do not know what they were trying to do by naming it that.
We should definitely get a final fantasy episode at some point. Just talk about the franchise and their transportation a bit.
Oh, they could watch the FF movie! I should rewatch that, I remember it being pretty good.
New Orleans as race venue? 😤
New Orleans does have a glorious history of potholes providing excellent ramps.
My parents were catholic but not crazy religious, and they were fine with me playing the Zelda series, but they had a weird thing about the Triforce shirts and would get into huffs about 'mysteries of the trinity' even after I tried explaining the games so I didn't even bother asking for a shirt because I knew wearing it would like trigger a nearly incomprehensible mad-libs script on repeat.
As resident of the Tennessee Appalachia area.. me and some of the boys from the holler love our LGBTQ+ friends, and will be happy to return fire on the boot lickers if they take umbrage to our Tran Girlismo celebrities.
Thank you vickie for the oil updates 07 your work does not fall on deaf ears
