Freelance Entertainer and Archaeology Kit Updates
I discovered that the two custom careers that my mods provide were both broken by the last patch. These are fixed below, and on their main mod pages.
Your sims will unavoidably have to start their career progress over again, but these both now function correctly after the last patch.

is the entertainer still working? when loading up my game it takes my sim out of the career and I dont get the popups to go to the gigs scheduled
I started testing that yesterday after you posted this. I'm not seeing that problem. Existing freelance entertainers were still employed and were able to take gigs, and the popups showed when it was time. However, it didn't seem like the 'perform for 1 hour' goal was ever getting completed, even though they played for much longer than that. I'm looking into why, as the tuning is about identical to another built in situation goal, but haven't gotten to the bottom of it yet. So, it does seem to work, but it might not be working entirely correctly right now. Still digging into that. It sounds kind of like the script for yours didn't load. Is it more than one level deep in your mods folder? Scripts in folders nested deeper than that don't get loaded by the game. Thanks for the feedback, and let me know if you notice any other clues, like lastException.txt files in your Sims folder.

Hi, I downloaded the updated version of the freelance entertainer mod. When I went to sign my sim up for the career again my sim is unable to sign up. In fact, the freelance entertainer branch is grayed out as if he already has a job as an entertainer. Is there another way for my sim to join the career again?
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I didn't see any obvious reasons why that would be greyed out. There's one age requirement (young adult or older) like all the freelance careers, but I don't see any others in the tuning. I have a vague memory of something to do with all careers if you quit then try to rejoin the same one again, but I have never tried it (I will do so now, though). Have you tried this mod? https://www.curseforge.com/sims4/mods/unlimited-jobs It works pretty well to let your sim have as many jobs at once as they wish. I'm pretty sure I had a sim in the detective career who moonlighted as a comedian, but I can't recall whether I was using the unlimited-jobs mod to do so. I'll look into this more closely, in any case. Thanks for the (possible) bug report!
I think there may be an issue with the freelance entertainer mod. I had a gig as a wedding singer, but when you join the sim to go to the gig it crashes out to the world view. Venue was the wedding venue in tartosa (i have the wedding pack) havent tried any other gigs, but I can test others if it will be helpful
I just tried it myself, and took a wedding gig. Unfortunately, it worked fine. I couldn't easily replicate it. I completed the entire gig, but no errors. Darn (it's a lot easier to fix if I can get it to happen here). if you can try a regular lounge gig, that would be helpful. Most helpful would be if you could either copy and paste the contents of the lastException.txt that the game would have created next to your mods folder when the error occurred, or send it to simsonianlibrary@gmail.com. If I can see the stacktrace in that file, I can usually figure out what went wrong. I'll try a few more things to see if I can get it to break as well. Thanks for the feedback and bug report!
[cjiang] Error occurred within the tag named 'definition' (value: V) (UnavailablePackSafeResourceError). devnull_wedding_MakeWeddingToastDrink. - it's the makeweddingtoast again 👀 sorry to be the bearer of bad news
Did that come up in a wedding gig? And if so, do you have the wedding pack? (I think I recall that you don't) If you don't have the wedding pack, what sort of lot did it send you to? Or did that come up randomly? I have some pack tests I worked out that I should add to that objective, if nothing else. -- or maybe I can find a glass + toast animation in another pack. I could probably add or modify that gig to just be a party gig, but I do want to add some pack specific gigs (using the pack tests I wrote to filter them), since playing wakes and royal balls might be fun to add. Thanks for letting me know/reminding me! I'll come up with a pack-safe solution for that (finally...). I'll remember to write up a proper bug ticket in my tracking system for that as well, lol! I thought about that for a while after the last report, but then got swept up in something else...
These are my absolute favorite custom careers. Thank for the updates!
