3x6 I thought was a bad episode. After confirming the second death, you announce a new law asap that #DeathTo is banned and anyone using it against will be charged with manslaughter. It was pretty silly at 01:01:09 when the lady said "because nobody will ever know if they did or didn't". The UK government can request access for crime prevention to all your social media posts. It's already a thing and has been for many years people getting jailed for saying things online. Even when you delete a post there's a trail they can just dig up. The files remain after deletion they're not instantly gone.
What makes Hated in the Nation so cool is that it plays out like a movie. Not just the length, but in its pacing and direction. Always thought that was a great choice.
Totally forgot that Shiv was in episode 5!
totally forgot about 3x6 ! like i remember better the oldest episodes (except waldo, didn't care much about that one lol *but still remembered a part of it...)
Hated in the Nation is my absolute favourite Black Mirror Episode, it's like a whole ass movie, and it's so freaking good.
There are so many good ones coming. I feel like Oak is going to say “this is my favorite one” to all of them. The first episodes lay the foundation for you to understand the tech and the world. The rest really dig in deep of that tech with the parallels of our world.
Men Against Fire doesn't just apply to WW1 and wars in general, but also to the climate we live in in America today with the views on immigrants. Our government right now is trying to tell us that immigrants are the "roaches." According to the government, they bring their drugs in, and kill our citizens, and create chaos. They want Americans to see immigrants as the enemy to our society.
This is how I always interpreted the episode too. I liked Oak’s read of it but it is still very much talking about today’s world unfortunately.
Teaching young minds about the "birds and the BEES" is a lot different than the 1900s...
lool some context no one asked for - in hated in the nation the 'this is a good school' is not a made up sign its actually a school grading/rating from Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education), as kids growing up in the uk my friends and I found it hilarious as it looks so silly!
I love Hated in the Nation. I wish there's a sequel for it
Next week are two of my favorite episodes im ready
Also how does Kelly Macdonald not even age 😅
She so beautiful man lol I loved her in lanterns
“Hated in the Nation” is one of my all time favourite episodes. But for some reason (despite having seen it so many times), I can only ever remember the first half 😂 the twist gets me every time. Watching this when it came out, the social media comments seemed quite extreme. The scary thing rewatching it now, is that stuff like that is so ‘normal’ to see every single day on X, Facebook etc. 😢
I've watched BM before years ago, but man, sometimes when you guys open a new episode, I have no idea what the f*** is going on 😂 Some of the concepts are so off from what you expect, you just delete them completely out of your head as being part of this show. I mean I could've sworn Men Against Fire was some kinda movie I watched 🤣
Episode 5 definitely gave me some vibes of Nazi Germany hunting Jewish people is that what they were going for in this episode if so pretty bold move for the episode
It's so funny watching Mason Quinn's face during these reactions since he's seen the episodes
