«That’s three words, bitch” was iconic from Carrie! And then “You are such a small-minded, mean, petty, manipulative bitch. You need to repent” to her mother finished me! That was marvelous 👏👏👏
It is the best thing for Chris to be expelled, not just to be able to say a fake “I’m sorry” & go back to regular life. Those type of consequences never make changes but expulsion will leave a lasting effect. Sooooo it doesn’t matter if Carrie doesn’t want to make a big deal about it when it is in fact already a huge deal that was affecting many lives, not just Carrie. I’m glad Margaret stood her ground & didn’t give in for a soft resolution, & she was trying to instill that into Carrie but Carrie just sees Margaret as a bully herself & cannot see the bigger picture.
Great reaction gents 👏🏽 ! You seem to forget that Carrie is a 15 year girl. Since when do parents have to ask their children for permission. I thought it was supposed to be the other way around. Children are supposed to respect & listen to their parents choices until they are legal adults & that parent is no longer legally responsible for that child. It’s not just about control. & what’s wrong with a parent putting up cameras around the house when said parent is not always at home due to a nighttime job. The bedroom camera is a little intrusive but can’t blame Margaret for the others ones. Ralph White, was a fundamentalist conspiracy theorist who heavily controlled their household. Even though Margaret spits out all the same lines of thought that came from Ralph to Carrie, Margaret is seen as the abusive bully by Carrie as opposed to Ralph. So regardless of Margaret’s extreme efforts to "protect" her daughter (also with Ralph’s blessing), Carrie still loved & idolized her father, while viewing Margaret as the villain. “Cause it doesn't matter how hard mothers try. Little girls just resent us, idolize their daddies”. Carrie not feeling bad for hurting her mother but feels guilt if she hurts any of the bullies tormenting her in school is a bit hypocritical to me .
Matthew Lillard is just amazing in this series!
Remember that her powers do not only show when she is angry. She could also lift up the car when she was happy/relaxed. Her powers can also be very gentle :)
If the video was live they would've for sure made a point of that. Think it's safe to assume she was just recording a video
I wanted to touch on the “idolize their daddies” conversation Margaret and Carrie had. Earlier just that same day at the mediation, Mrs. Hargensen’s mention of familial splitting caused by Chris’s father and Chris mirroring his behavior establishes a vital parallel. Chris is not just acting out of arbitrary malice. She is executing her father’s exact playbook of an entitled, manipulative patriarch. Her father’s influence has taught her how to weaponize legalities, charm, and social standing to escape accountability. Madison and Margaret both find themselves dealing with daughters who have internalized destructive traits from men they couldn't control. While Madison recognizes that Chris is mirroring her father's combative, manipulative behavior, she struggles to break that loop, mirroring Margaret’s own helplessness and anxieties regarding Carrie's power. And this is where the explanation of why she ignored the funeral home is exposed. Margaret thought bringing home his ashes would essentially turn the home into a shrine for Ralph, and for once in her life, she had full control, of everything. And those ashes just meant another loss of that control for her. When Carrie tells Margaret that she wishes Margaret had died instead of her father, she is stripping Margaret of her martyrdom and wishing her out of existence entirely due to her tyranny. The irony lies in her accusation of Carrie and Chris’s idolatry, because she did the very same thing, and still is—repeating the same fearmongering phrases as Ralph did. Margaret views a daughter's love for a father as a betrayal. To her, men are sources of ruin (emphatically warning Carrie about boys). She has endured suffering, isolation, and societal judgment directly due to the existence (or lack thereof) of a man to keep Carrie safe on the "narrow path." Bravo to the writers!
Damn...they sure know how to pull the rug right out from beneath our feet in this Eps, where ya was feeling 1 way for Peist in the past, until ya find out the shocking truth, what a twist that was!. I also thought that Mediation meeting was not going to have any resolution whatsoever, the crocodile tears & pleading from Madison/Chris had no effect on Margret/Carrie & then just full on fuel poured on the fire with that incident outside the school, just total chaos, I thought Carrie was going to do something there when she got knocked over, but was anyone else secretly satisfied when she FINALLY stood up to her Mother? & that look on face as she says her final line, ya can feel she's gonna shake things up next time she's in school, Emaline just carrying on being the devil on her shoulder, I wanted to channel my inner Quinn Sunfyre energy & believe that she was real in some form hehe.
For me, there was one point in the bathroom where it seems like Chris was starting to open up to Carrie. But within a few seconds, because of how she had been raised , and her own fear of opening up and being vulnerable to people, she closed herself back up and said instead, it was a joke
the rocks most likely came from the space as Carrie is actually capable of pulling asteroids down from the sky😭🔥
I think she was on live at the end but Carrie ended it once she smacked the phone & it disconnected😩
wow what a strong episode especially with the dialogue 🏆 mike definitely highlighted his take on carrie with this ep too btw.. really hope we get to see the OG movie on the channel btw
How about a double upload for the finale?
you predicted it
As far as Carrie's powers...there's a big connection between her and some of King's other works which you may have already heard about. I know you'll be watching the shining soon so that's perfect. If the schedule permits, I'd definitely add The Green Mile to the list semi-soon. Its got 261 acknowledgements on the site as of now. Phenomenal movie.
Spot the Mark Hamill cameo 😉
LOL! I just spotted him! 👀🔮
I always thought the rocks came from space after watching the original Carrie. Like, her subconscious was trying to bring down a punishment from heaven which manifested as pulling asteroids down to earth. I could be wrong though, because typing it out doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, and if so, Carrie’s powers would be on a whole other level lol
yup the rocks most likely came from the space as Carrie is actually capable of pulling asteroids down from the sky😭🔥
Hope you look up who played the psychic dude in the intro!
...and there's the Peist payoff that he got going after pushing for it to be discussed at the student council. I just wish that every story about high school didn't have some teacher doing this. It starts to become a lazy trope at this point.
This episode was all GAS and I commend the balls on them to make a character we sympathized with, the teacher actually be a shitty lowlife. I can feel the impending doom this ep especially lol
I think too many shows and movies fall back on the trope of a teacher having sex with a student. It would have been better to not have it happen and have him be mercilessly be doxed and people be harassing him at home, with it not being true. That would have been more interesting to me. I don't know that I've ever seen a teacher be accused of having a relationship like that and actually NOT be having one.
I think Chris would have apologized because it was her only way getting back into school and graduating and going to prom which mattered to her now we can definitely question the sincerity of the apology obviously but Margaret words definitely pushed her to not go that route
As someone who has read the book, I disagree. I don’t believe Chris would’ve ever apologized
YES!!!!!
