Still pissed about Lud's "Get Out of Jail Free Card" saying his kids are innocent even tho they did awful things and saying it's cuz of "time paradox" and him telling Sera that Ahtey saved Dhalia even tho he didn't know that
This reminds me of the dark tower saga. Ka is a wheel and it keeps on turning.
Selenia has definitely been through some shit
Coming back a week later man its crazy how Aiden and Slimes arguments for not pressing the button were so horrible. It's funny how split it is in the comments and both sides are adamant the other is the dumbest possible decision. Thats gotta feel good as a DM that you can get this many people so to both care and that they are so split on what to do
Worth subbing to the patreon just for that last frame it ends on lmao. I'm glad Dave is enjoying this just as much as we are! i was team don't hit the button for sure (from a viewer perspective) but he didn't explain his point very well in the moment so makes sense the obstinate stonebeard just goes ahead and ignores him ahaha best moment is undoubtably narrative terrorism
Leonas’s vent sesh with CK was cathartic. I was so ready to see a closed time loop get broken and then Stonebred went and did that
Okay so Slime’s Beyond setup has just been trolling him for 58 eps?
awww no they pushed the button, oh well okay bring back selinia now :D :D
Stonebread is the real villain of the story
You know? Something I'm still thinking about, but I don't know where the hell Dave would fit it in is that Dave said Horizon and the creeping knight are the youngest gods. We just saw a the story with Ck, but that means horizon like just became a god in that 100 years. Knowing Dave's writing, I feel like he definitely has a story for him especially with georg and his whole become a god arc. I just don't know if he'll be able to work that in or if that's just something that's going to stay in the lore vault .
I am so annoyed by Lud’s/Stonebeard’s decision but holy shit the description of the explosion (specifically with valathar) was maybe the best moment of the series
This was a crazy episode to finally catch up at
As a shilling whale I would like the party to maybe talk to the god and get in touch with thimble and also ask their gods, especially horizon, what it would take to kill a god like the one white Purrhaps also get in touch with coots in some way that makes sense and also assemble an army to take into the ethereal plane to stop the demons
Isn't there a giant portal out in the sea near leiko? They sailed out to it and dove down in the early episodes. They really need to go back to leiko, clear their names, revive Selinia and investigate the portal/ethereal plane
The creeping nights origin is phenomenal. I didn’t expect him to sacrifice himself to protect his comrades n their Faith then makes him a god. Chefs kiss well worth the wait
The CTE stonebeard got from those cannons really pushed this narrative in ways that makes Dave’s story telling abilities shine brighter than the laser that blew valithar’s shit smoove off
now i could be way off but did uh did rone just get either possesed by the tree or mpreged by the tree via IVF aka the blood edit: i think it was jst that he can H E A R now
I'm ready for some Yard D&D merch
Not sure if someone else has made this theory. But I feel like a consequence of pressing the button will be boosting the demon armies numbers in the present by wiping out all those soldiers and perhaps even demons that didn’t make it out of the way of the blast.
It seems like it's simply a return to the statis quo, since it was the same scenario that happened hundred years ago. They had a choice to alter the past, but chose the safer path, the path of certainty. Who can predict what happens when you stop a cataclysmic event from happening... as said previously in the show, maybe they wouldn't even exist, Mori wouldn't exist...
Rone is going to become the DND equivalent of Will from stranger things
By the way, Roan rolling the 19 after drinking the sap was probably the most consequential roll of the entire story so far, it‘s the difference between him probably turning into an enemy or him being the solution for winning against the demons
Well, Stonebeard should have enough material now to write another book about how he pooped his pants and rolled around in it while thousands of people died lol. "Me, My Babies, and the Really Big Cannon"
I want them to throw the seed in the demon juice
Never seen Dave grin like that at the end of
First of all, this has been the best sausage tour ever. Second, I stand with Ludwig 100% here. Stonebeard would without a doubt press the button, and so he did, and the fight against the demons is so much more possible with the current terradin army than in the past with an already failing army (plus the fact that destroying the demon fabricator aiden saw probably doesnt do shit since more must exist all around)
MD&D was the funniest thing
Dave during the whole after show is so me when my roommates argue, also fuck stonebread
What if Dalia is Ashura or another being. Wasn’t she like super pure or something with her baby complexion?
Although ig Ashura existed as a primordial thing, but I still think Dalia has a LOT of significance to the story
I literally figured out how to watch the after show on patreon a week ago and im so happy I get to watch it now 😭
i can’t believe the “ludwig actually doesn’t like nick” rhetoric made it to the stonebeard baby naming ceremony too
Ludwig dressing like as knock of Marty Mcfly for this specific episode is nasty work.
I think the argument that they would be blipped out of existence the second they don’t press the button is so dumb. Their existence in the past was not predicated on their existence in the present. Them having an impact in the past is evidence that they exist (in that moment) prior to their birth (pressing the button and having the explosion is evidence of this), which to me means they would continue to exist in the past even if they would not be born in the present. If that makes sense
It’s crazy I didn’t really realize Rone is a Cleric lol
stonebeard was struck by sudden clarity and started spouting dialogue tailor made for an animatic. I couldn't ask for more
I wrote a whole paragraph about how this epsiode made me feel but all I can say is it was chaotic in the best way
God these episodes are fire 🙂↕️
I'm so mad a Stonebeard for the button. The time travel would have to be at least a bit deterministic because the button is pressed due to the Creeping Knight sending them back in time but he can't become the Creeping Knight if the button is never pressed. So if they don't press the button we can assume they don't instantly poof out of existence. Also them not dealing with the problem for 100 years means the demons get 100 free years of building their army. It also makes me wonder how Anvil and Hammer was supposed to happen without CK? Maybe Ashera is partnered with Sankofa?
Dave should go on the pod after, we have to know how his sausage was made
The fact that they take so long to debate pressing the button means that they must eventually press it as they currently exist
how dare they make me side with stonebeard
Roan taking a sip is gonna change the plot of yard dnd into stranger things. Hopefully its not the same outcome
I had a thought about ashura. I think she has a huge weak point and that is by nature of her existence of not experiencing time linearly but instead all at once. If she were to take damage, she would take it at every point in time and she can't heal her damage since she technically couldn't take the required time to heal since that would imply time passing for her in a linear fashion which is contrary to the nature of her existence. So much like the demons capturing the kids, you don't need to kill her at one time, you could chip her down over many times
Choosing to drink the sap felt like Nick trying to kill roan like all his other characters.
As curious as I am about what would happen if they didn’t push the button Leonis was really losing me in the sausage being made with his reasonings
Ok nah Stonebeard definitely made the right choice here. Partly I feel like their argument split because they have different perceptions of how the time travel works. I think in Lud/Nick's heads the laser going off isn't evidence of a time loop, whereas Slime/Aiden think it does, and for Slime/Aiden therefore it makes sense to "break the cycle". But for Lud/Nick they feel like either option means doing something new, and pressing the button is best because in the past they are literally overrun. And then I think narratively going back to the present is a must-happen, because otherwise we lose so many characters and connections. And that seems to happen only if they press the button. I genuinely feel like they lose if they don't press the button, the entire show to this point has been about how they were so doomed during the war, it was the only way. They still have to fight the enormous numbers of legions if they want to destroy the ichor!
I’m definitely on Ludwig and Nick ‘s side on this one so i’m glad they got their way over the other team.
b dave walters, you truly are so great at your job man. these last two episodes have been some of the best of the entire series, and i am continually astounded by your patience and determination to craft a compelling narrative despite everything that the fellas do lmao. unbelievably goated storyteller and it shows with how genuinely invested the guys are :)))
chauncey done porked that carpet
I got banned from the yard discord cuz I clicked on a phishing link that spammed all discord channels with a crypto scam. How can I get unbanned 😔
W Dave.
really enjoy the sausage making portion where they argue about the pivotal choice while Nick just looks satisfied after drinking Demon Jizz
Ok wtf Dave describing Valathar shielding syrene and the others was absolutely beautiful. The fact that the form he has in the present is caused by him standing in front of his comrades and refusing to go down without a fight. And the music for the scene is just top notch
"Thanks, he takes after his father" sums up Ludwig's reasons for having kids
dave saying this pleases me oh i cannot WAIT for next week
Aiden saying that the army was able to fight the demons is crazy man the whole point of the beam being shot was bc they were getting overrun, wether the demons have the infinite supply or not there’s theoretically millions of demons in “hell” on the other side that they’ve been trying to get through and that moment is the moment that is either them getting through or stopping it. There’s no way not pushing the button, whether the group stays alive through the paradox or not, has an outcome better than going back to the present with the seed of a god and the demon jizz and more information that they didn’t previously have
Also roan drinking the demon jizz is something that never has happened in the loop before so they’ve clearly changed things in this loop that they presumably didn’t before
Even if they didn’t press the button, isn’t it implied that SanKofa activated the weapon at some point himself? So even if the boys didn’t do it and failed to stop the demons it would have been fine anyways?
i dont know what The Plot is going to be but what i want it to be is Roan gets changeling mpreg bc he drank the tree gods cum then give birth to Virirus 2.0 like baby groot
Roan under the influence of the goo is like Eddy in Venom
I love seeing Nick dump a load of salt into this confection and seeing Dave cheffing it up into a savory snack.
Imagining a world where Roan rolls a 1 on that vial and he fucking explodes
the idea that they would have stopped existing the second they decided not to push the button is stupid. the past has by definition already happened, their actions in the past either inevitably loop back around or they are affecting a different branch. like why would time travel play out in a linear order of operations where the moment of the decision is so inevitable that it guarantees their future non-existence, except prior to that moment is was indeterminate so they did exist? back to the future is a children’s movie.
I am with Stonebeard here. Not pressing the button and everything just working out with no real plan feels a bit silly. And attacking the demon factory doesn't feel like a real plan because they keep getting destroyed in combats.
Crazy how Ashera is completely unmentioned through the whole episode and sausage time. She was literally found by stonebeard living among the demons, created a catastrophic prison break, and has verbally stated that she doesn’t care what the demons do because she’s going to cleanse the world afterward anyway. The boys will forget and then as soon as they defeat the demon horde it won’t matter anyway bc the world will be destroyed lmfao
I think it’d be cool if the reason that this is happening with Roan is because he’s undead. Like what if when he was alive he was a pure soul, and after he died and became undead he became a damned soul (either by just being undead or by being a “sinful” person in actions). Maybe that’s why he’s feeling the effects but not turning. I think it’d be cool to see where that plot goes down, could be powers, could be problems, or he’ll Roan could split into two people all moonknight style or something.
Call one Chauncey and one Roan. Or maybe the roan one would be a zombie and just turn into a demon. Either way could be fun
This reminds me of the dream/vision stonebeard had where he and sirus get to live in mori with their kids
Rone Callidus my beloved trans allegory is finally on HRT
i know there’s a war with demons happening and some other stuff, but i need to go back to gender-questioning Rone
genuinely torn if i like pre CTE stonebeard or post more
woah is this a repost of the office lights ep
I truly did not see any logic behind not pressing it when dave kept basically saying the demons will overrun if not pressed and the fucker leonas goes "the demons will stop"
Roan putting the flask down on top of the button would’ve been soooo fire
I think slime is right about not pressing the button from "creating a story" point of view.
I totally had the same argument as Aiden. The cannon is still there and someone could press the button later to reset the loop, if things go south. But after Rone drank the goo, I was fully onboard to press the button. That shit was so crazy, no way was that part of any loop.
Thematically, it makes the most sense that, of the four, Stonebeard is the one to push it. Considering he’s the only one that remembers the war, remembers the consequences of Anvil and Hammer, and was the one most affected by the knowledge of its existence, pushing the button grants SB a conclusion to his character arc of becoming a better leader by doing what is for the greater good. I don’t consider this a “stonebeard wasn’t thinking” fuck up. Oh and also stonebeard make cannon go boom again
All he was thinking was "I'm gonna get so much attention for this"
Too many people talking about the button I'm still stuck on the bean joke
Why has no one brought up that sirius should also have that demon connection stuff lmao
I believe it's only the demons made using the life essence of viridis that have the voices. Correct me if I'm wrong but not all demons were made this way?
Sound effects and background music this ep were on point!
i think i see the line after roan drank, roan has the seed from viridis i think that might protect him also we know that there is a connection with undead and angels becasue of his step mom being able have to a child with his dad there is a way to make that line work, excited to see what is next (correction leonis has the seed)
I'm pretty sure it was roan that had the seed though, did he not get it in his little dream under the tree
I'm surprised how no one is talking about how clutch that 19 was on drinking the sap. If that roll was low we probably would've had roan turn into some crazy demon
it is very stonebeard to be super annoying about self-martyring himself on the whole button thing LOL. I really don’t think that pressing the button would’ve erased all the part and others who came from the present, but it would send them to the non-button world (instead of their button world) perhaps after they get sent from the past to the future. So it would sorta be like saving a wholly different world. you can argue that them affecting anyone at all already did this and that it’s a miracle the world is still in one piece because of how much change they introduced into the past lmao, but at this point it seems like they didn’t fuck up the world enough for it to be that drastically different from the world they entered the past from.
Everyone is talking about the button choice but I loved the garbanzo bean joke was my favorite moment
b. dave walters you mad genius this was perfect
Love you Dave but please stop deep throating the mic can hear every swallow and lick of the lips. It’s nasty
nah it's fine actually
If they didn’t push the button would they have gone into the timeline where Ashera loses since she can’t tell what happens after. AHHHH
Georg and Leonas have never been so right
Georg and Leonas have never been so right
ok wait the sound editing has always been really good in this series and the music during dave's monologue was a great choice. huge props to whoever worked on this ep!!
this is good goons, and I am pissed I have to wait another week to see what happens next
You gotta push the button. Too many unknowns with not pushing it, I doubt they would’ve been able to push it if they failed to break the demon device. But now im curious what would’ve happened if they didn’t lmao
NARRATIVE TERRORISM
Hearing your players argue so passionately after session has got to be the best feeling as a DM
Ludwig is operating on Back To The Future rules of time & Aiden is using The Terminator. Ludwig argued that if they don't push the button then there is no Hammer & Anvil & also no them to go back in time. Aiden saw it as they had already and always do push the button as time is fixed, if they didn't push the button (and fail the alternate plan), then Hammer & Anvil happens anyway.
The thing is Sankofa already had plans for Hammer & Anvil before they arrived in past. So I think Aiden is right on this one. Someone's gonna press that button. Maybe not now, maybe not them, but it's gonna happen. Of course they could be both correct. They agree to not press the button and vanish. An hour later Sankofa shows up and hits the button xD No fucking clue what happens if Georg destroys the button. I'll just assume the buttons indestructible.
My two cents: pressing the button was ultimately dumb because it leads to the same outcome with different ingredients. To think about all the atrocities that have happened by not trying to stop demon production; the benefit is marginal at best. Banger ep
There was never a universe the button didn’t get pressed lmao
i just started the episode oh my fucking god nick what did you just do....
Damnnnn that was an episode, last 6 min is pure comedy
While I think not hitting the button is the more interesting choice, it felt very out of character for Georg to vote that option considering it might get rid of GJ. Kinda the same for Leonas as well re:Selinia but idk if that would've been affected on account of her being itemized currently
using Salinia's soul like a fushigi
💀
god that was funny when dave used sirius to tell them to not fucking drink the rest of the elixir. even gave them a few option to do with it lmao
I desperately need a music festival ep now
What's wild to me is that this is 100% the largest insight into who they are as people I think they've ever published lmao. I think both pressing the button and not pressing the button were good options and will make good stories, but I wish the time paradoxical-ness was less relevant and maybe Ashera clears it up for them a bit, but since it's literally a paradox, she doesn't know either, so all that anybody has to go off of is the meta intuition that Dave the human would not blip half the cast out of reality if they refused to push the button. But it was such a cool ep and I think the next few will unironically be banger after banger until the end with way more fuckin awesome fuckin sausage.
I'm on Team Stonebread for this one. I agree that, while obviously Dave clarifies that neither path was the correct one, the other 2 take for granted that the situation was already lost and the cannon was the only way they knew of in that moment to at least give themselves more time. Also, I may be wrong about this, but the fact that Leonis brought the Seed of Veridis with him is the difference maker between all the previous loops and this current one and it will somehow be the reason why they can defeat the demons now instead of continuing the cycle of time loops.
but stonebeard only pressed the button so he could bloviate about being a father and having a family; he didn't think about this shit at all
every episode i watch, my first thought is "can it get better?" and the answer is always yes. 59 eps in and not a single miss.
Holy shit Dave is so good at storytelling- with the way the laser was fired, and Valathar standing with everyone behind him- it was such a vivid description it lowkey was making me tear up. I think Aimen is onto something tho. They could go back to the hole in Leiko, enter the ethereal plane, and stop the Fortnite Looper Demons. Possibly planting Viridis in the ethereal plane where its body once stood, allowing the branches of life and death to flow properly once more.
I've only seen the beginning but tbf bards don't HAVE to sing. Technically Roan is doing bard things by writing a book
Stonebeard is Imu lmao
14:05 I have never seen Dave like that LMAO
Legit like as soon as Roan had the sap I was like "Bro, he's gonna drink it..don't drink it..." I was wrong. Bro should have finished it all smh. Amazing episode
this the most stone beard made sense since like ep 6
I think all four of them are overthinking the press/don't press the button scenario. I assume Dave already had a couple of fallbacks to basically bring them back on the campaign's golden path.
nick saying "i drink it" the second time with the slight head tilt and exagerated blink is the most California boy shit ive seen in a minute. peak comedy. keep it up.
Aura of protection when mr paladin
Life’s great. footballs back, the best ep of dnd just dropped. enjoy the good times
Good thing I watched the "You lick snizz"-video today to properly appreciate Slime's joke.
Love how Nick did the one thing Dave didn't expect any of them to do
im scared. the people in the phone are yelling at each other
I think the solid snake destruction of the demon factory into everyone stone beard loves disappearing would have been a narrative masterpiece, but this will be nice too, I trust Mr Dave.
Team button
I wonder if Dave would’ve actually zapped the boys out of existence if they didn’t press the button
29 min in and I had to check how much time was left. Thank god there's still a whole hour.
Dungeon masters live for this amount of discourse and arguing because that means they created a world and story that the players are genuinely emotionally invested in. This is awesome to watch.
YOU GET ME. - BDW
The sole reason of me paying Patreon is because of this cinema right here
Holy hell Dave is such an amazing story teller
Chills this entire episode and we get a “I drink it” 😂
What level are they right now
nick w the haymaker jesus
As much as it pains me to say it, I am so on Aiden and Slime's side with the button. Even if just because I wanted to see what happens in that timeline more. You know Dave will cook either way though
really? because it felt lowk like Ludwig was the only one understanding what not pressing the button meant... like, Aiden's plan is cool at first thought, but the plan was essentially that, on the off chance they don't get erased from existence, the four have to go and wipe out a facility full of infinite demons that literally had to be nuked with an orbital laser to be destroyed.
Dave cooked so incredibly hard this week
I fucking love this show
1:33:12 what would’ve happened with the cannon firing up at the end of the countdown if they didn’t press it? could’ve shot off anyway maybe just not there
I ride with stonebeard
stoneB was being reasonable
Such a good episode the wait was so worth it
I started watching dnd podcasts because of this show. God these guys could learn so much if they just rolled for investigate more. It’s crazy how different dimension 20 is to this
Yea but would you want it to be the same? It being different is good. It's this good because of how they approach it.
Roan drinks the sinister potion
Stonebeard whyyyyy
I definitely would’ve pressed the button too
You know how I know I am a fucking loser. I get mad. I get mad at how stupid both Roan and Stonebeard act. Why drink it.
Sorry I spoke before listening for 5 more minutes. This is beautiful. Never change
48:25 no it should be like +12 or 13 all of your saves get it but your str and charisma saves will be higher due to save proficiency
ain't no way Ron unlocked his Durge run on episode 59 LMAO
47:50 also add your paladin aura to saves, you and your allies get it
Is it crazy to say that at the start of the episode Stonebeard is actually like 100% making sense?
the most intoxicated nick has ever been
Sir a second narrative nuke has hit the B Dave Walters facility
RIGHT? - BDW
Give us this Dave our daily sausage, Amen 🙏
(:
I thought this last episode but Dave really chefs it up nice when he goes into any cinematic explanation, god I like hearing him talk.... Also everyone's reasoning for not pressing the button was dumb as bricks, thank you Stonebeard
I think slimes meta decision of seeing an alternate future being interesting is a good reason
The most harrowing consequence of pushing the button is that bringing them back to the present forces them to deal with the aftermath of the Lud dm episodes at some point.
Not sure that's actually a consequence. Narratively staying in the past would be really weird. All the back story and secondary characters would be lost (like Thimble, the Apothecary, the Crossroads, ...). Makes me wonder if Dave would've just sent them back to the present regardless and the world would just be different, like ruled by the demons and they're the resistance now or something.
Based loadbeard made the hard choice we all were begging him to make
Dave is such a godly DM this episode is one of my favorites and I’m only half an hour in always my favorite part of work on Tuesday
15 minuets in, this is the best episode
"Narrative terrorism" lmao
Rone's rapper name
Let’s see how much Dave cooked this week
14:08 Dave’s disappointment lmao
"I thought being a bard would be like this way but it isnt" says guy whos never tried to be a bard any any capacity let alone that particular way
He literally wrote a book
Not me thinking "I wonder what would happen if Roan just drank it since he's the only undead" right before he did it
“i only drank half the bottle” oh ok he should be fine then 😭😭
So glad I got the Patreon for DnD a few weeks ago. The button awaits!

I think the button will actively just make sausage amongst friends here on the pat-reon, and that's the god's honest truth.

Just in time for lunch!
Most anticipated episode of the series, surely the guys make a well informed and unemotional decision regarding the safety of the world :)
