Story Stream: 8/1 - 8/7

Hello friends, neighbors, and patrons!
This was a VERY minimal week as it relates to story streaming. I've been in Nashville all week for Podcast Movement 2021, and I'm currently sitting in the airport waiting to board. I'm sure I'll post a more thorough update from the week soon, but for now, suffice to say we were very busy morning to night. It was a great week, and I still managed to fit a few movies in for the episode of Thirty Pop I'm wrapping up. Here they are!

MOVIES

Regarding Henry (1991)

I'd heard of this movie forever, but never seen it. Unsurprisingly, it was excellent. Harrison Ford is so good, and this was such a complicated role. If you've never seen it, you should definitely check it out. I think you'll love it. Streaming on Showtime. (8/10 - Highly Recommended)

Boyz n the Hood (1991)

A heartbreaking, but beautifully executed film I've loved for many years. I hadn't watched this in a very long time, but I still love it as much as I ever did. Ice Cube is a phenomenal dramatic actor, even though he mostly ends up in comedies these days. And Lawrence "Larry" Fishburne is excellent as Furious Styles. Available wherever you buy or rent digital movies. (9/10 - Very Highly Recommended)

Point Break (1991)

Le favorite in 1991, now, and forever. I will never NOT love this movie. Seriously. Maybe my favorite Keanu role (sorry, Neo), and definitely my favorite Patrick Swayze role. I may have to watch this one again next week. A 90s masterpiece. Streaming on HBO Max. (9/10 - Very Highly Recommended)
