S3E4: The Tiger Likes Fresh Blood
Look, I know what you're thinking, this is just another bad eurospy movie- but this movie was made by Claude Chabrol, one of the directors of the French New Wave, during his middle period. He may have made this movie entirely to keep the lights on, but he clearly used the opportunity to try some things out.
French secret Agent 'The Tiger' is tasked with bodyguarding a Turkish minister's wife and daughter during an arms trade.

URGENT APPEAL FOR AID FOR PALESTINE
SAG-AFTRA are still on strike and their donation links can be found in the description of the previous episode. However, right now there's only one link to provide. https://www.map.org.uk/donate/donate
What needs to happen in occupied Palestine cannot be accomplished with donations alone. The UN and entire international community must step in and hold Israel accountable for its ongoing genocide and relentless war crimes against the Palestinian people. Join a solidarity protest as soon as you can

If Abigail wants more fights in video games to have flying headbutts, I recommend Street Fighter 6, spam E. Honda headbutt. It's a surprisingly effective strategy all the way up to diamond rank (and even low master rank.) EDIT: Oh, my car!
Between the first time I heard this episode and now, I learned something interesting! Apparently in France, "gorilla" is sometimes used as slang for particularly beefy bodyguards: hence why "the Tiger" was originally "the Gorilla," which in turn explains why a disproportionate amount of the things that the Tiger does in these ostensibly-spy-themed movies are bodyguard-type things.
Where can I send my resume for "the goose" I also come with a tall blonde wife
When you were talking about the office being on the first floor to stay out of the flooding it took me a while to remember that in the UK the first floor and the ground floor are different floors.
Hyperfixation activated: many cowboy holsters did have retention systems, because you need it to stay put when riding and getting on and off horses. This was usually accomplished either with a leather loop that hooked over the hammer, or in the case of the cavalry a full flap that covered the back of the gun against the elements.
In defense of thr assasin who switched to a Bowtie, he was going for an achievement and unlock a new skin for his knife
I fucking WISH Rian Johnson would make an off-brand Star Wars. I didn't even care for the one he did, but I am CAPTIVATED by that idea
Stellar Conflict: Fall of the Resistance
"She was in a ball gown and I was in the closet" sounds like the fucking hardest lyrics to a Lesbian punk song
'Le tigre se parfum à la dynamite' is a perfect film title. It's a shame they didn't stick with it in the english translation.
LGBT: Levantine Greek Balkan Turkish
A villain whose only super power is that they have a strong forehead? What a terrible idea! That could never work (side-eyes a Spider-Man comic)
I want a girl with a long scope and a shooooooort barrel … Bowm Badabadowm Badabadabow bow ba
Unironically, KJB should just do a review of an opera. Excited to hear what Rigoletto has to say about masculinity.
Could we call this guy Damp Blofeld?
Thank you for the donation link for the Palestinian people. I've been so horrified about everything that's happening this week, but the wide -seemingly- unquestioning support for Israël has made me feel like I'm going insane 😵💫 Israel seems to me as the much more powerful oppressor of a marginalized group of people, but what do I know? But the wide response makes me feel like I'm some sort of closet anti-semite, for feeling that way...
Abi really be like: “I’m one of the few actors you’ll meet that have been in more movies than they’ve seen.”
Tigers In The Mud was actually about German tanks being attacked by the furry unit of the Soviet Red Guards
"She was in a ballgown, I was in the closet" is a Fall Out Boy song title
I had it as Blink 182 lyrics
“Every opening move: Headbutt. Every closing movie: Headbutt” -The shaking hands meme between Devon and E Honda
The butcher has just delivered me some fresh flesh, so it is time for the weekly "cook with KJB"
This has made my day- just about finished the ep and discovered ‘Well There’s Your Problem’. Making cleaning chores pass so quickly 😸
I recommend the Nedelin episode, the Kursk Episode(Milo appreciator), and the Caving Disasters episode with Devon(hi Devon)
I was playing BG3 and ran into an NPC and said "oh fuck that's Abigail" - so cool!
Excited to listen this week, even if the films are stinkers, you three have such wonderful chemistry that it's just fun hearing you talk about shit. Do you have any plans for horror films for the back end of October? If you ever decided to watch Fright Night (original), it's a banger
Once the strike is fully resolved I would love for you to take a look at Gremlins 2, especially in light of your analysis of the Rambo series.
I watched gremlins 2 recently and would talk about it for approximately three hours. It's perfect. It's 100% on my list for post-strike -Dev
