S2E10: Without Remorse
We finally did it, we reached the apex of the Tom Clancy movies.
In a world without wives.... one man has a dream: To avenge his fridged pregnant wife by killing approximately 50 full human beings. But Don't worry- all of them are foreign. It's impossible that any of them could have wives or anything.
I don't know how to sum this one up other than by saying that in the scene that could most be called "the one where Michael B Jordan says what the movies themes are" the film unironically goes like 'i didnt carry an M4 in aleppo just to see them carried in the streets of the United States'. Foreign nations are a sandbox in a state of perpetual violence, but the US is sacred.

one day they will give us tinker tailor soldier spy and i will celebrate, even if no one else will
I will celebrate alongside you comrade. It's my favorite film and I've been yearning for it since it was first mentioned on the pod haha
Now surely, an accent that resembles Foghorn Leghorn with some English guy slipping in would just be an allusion to a certain Kentucky colonel with an accidental yet uncanny prescience.
I knew they made an awful movie about Benghazi but I had no idea until this episode that there was a Tom Clancy movie about rescuing Caro
They’ve left the computer with the script unattended and everyone who came by added scenes. That explains shifts from thin blue line to ACAB in a matter of minutes. The Russians were probably the bad guys initially, but a Russian guy swung by and added the twist and obvious foreshadowing.
With all the "oorah oorah USA!" bullshit I thought this came out in the early 2000's until Abby said it was made a year ago. (edit: can't explain how I missed all the contemporary politics though)
An odd thing about this plot and intending to do Rainbow 6 is that it's a plot point in R6 that Chavez is married to Clark's daughter
Devon, you could get the knuckle tattoo done if you went ❤KIL WIFE
I changed my tier back down because I felt too seen. It was either that or change my name to "I love my mum"
I'm not even remotely cagey about loving my mum
Love the movie where navy SEALS rise out of the water in Alepo, a landlocked city
2 weeks to Halloween and no spooky scary episodes to send shivers down my spine? 😢
These Tom Clancy movies could have been so much better if they're kept them set in the decades the books were set in. Without Remorse is set in the early 70s. Also doesn't involve a dead wife. (It's a sex worker Kelly rescued). Hell, it's just Kelly going on an Archer rampage against crime people. There's no secret agents or anything like that.
“Tom Clancy” is only barely an author/film producer. He’s very much a DoD/CIA functionary. Check out Steve Piecznik, who was his ghost writer and producer for years. They’re both utter maniacs, and I don’t want their movies to be “better.” Quite the opposite. They manufacture psychopathy, and are very well paid for it.
So the "Emily thought this was about short owls" was meant to be for Hedwig and the Angry Inch, but I missed the cutoff for that episode, then had an unrelated breakdown and forgot to change my name for a couple weeks
i have not seen this film; is it at all possible that Kelly/Clark is supposed to be an anti-hero? like, the movie title pretty clearly states "this guy *is* a soulless killer"
on the other hand, the text could be arguing that soulless killers are exactly what america needs more of (abroad)
It feels so incredibly weird to have one of these on without any interesting/ hilarious comments already posted underneath 😅
