S2E4: Patriot Games
Kill James Bond enters into another long-term beef with a named person, as we return.... to Jack Ryan.
This time, retired CIA analyst Jack Ryan (Harrison Ford) faces off against a rogue element of the IRA, after getting himself embroiled in an assassination attempt against a royal when on holiday in London. Irish Sean Bean swears revenge against him for killing his little brother, and hunts him down across America.
the American release for this nearly had the tagline 'there has never been a terrorist attack on American soil', which they got rid of because it seemed like too much of a challenge.

im relistening and this just makes me think that you should watch the 2nd and 3rd indiana jones films on the bonus feed during S3 bc they're sort of heisty and the 3rd one has old man connery in it (i would also suggest Raiders but i know The Rules.)
You’ve probably gotten this suggestion before, and I know you’re reluctant to watch good movies because they make for less interesting commentary, BUT: please consider watching Master and Commander for the pod
Heads up, I don't think the RSS Link for the Patreon-exclusive podcast is updating properly, the last episode on there is Bourne from the 30th of March.
Next bonus episode should be D.E.B.S.
do this then the k-stew charlies angels
Took me a while to realise that this is the same story that Bill Bailey mentioned when he did a stand-up bit about Tom Clancy and the "Completely bonkers, only two of them are left IRA" book. No Queen Mother with a bazooka in the adaptation unfortunately.
1:07:00 aww congrats abby :)
25:37 oh ... ohhh nooooo lol

Richard Harris was not only Irish, he was a vocal supporter of the PIRA
Why did Clancy want his name off of it?
Richard Harris is irish
Devon: "American audiences are idiot dipshits who never understand anything". Me: "Hey, I resemble that remark!"
A few seconds in and CANCELED. CANCELLING YOU.
The Carnal of the Cumlibs
The Bear And The Drag Queen
Thank you Dev, I am in fact Looking Forward To That and will be Tuning In after seething with rage on the first occasion Abi promised it and it was then waylaid.
There's a podcast called Unclear and Present Danger which looks at movies set in the post-Cold War era where America is desperately looking for new boogeymen to put in their movies. They cover the Jack Ryan stuff and other movies from that time period so if you're enjoying this stuff you'd probably like that podcast also.
Can't wait for True Lies to finally cross the KJB desk
Never before have the English inflicted such suffering on the Irish people
Legitimately excited for the bonus episode. The entire franchise is utterly and deeply Facinating™️
Not knowing London well I checked the book dealers train trip. Google has him doing multiple concentric circles around London for three hours.
um. it's called spycraft
"Queer and Present Stranger"
Sean Bean can be Shawn Bawn or Sheen Been. He can't be both.
Sad no mention of Richard Harris' finest performance, which was singing "MacArthur Park" in 1968: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSH6_DVJq24
I think you meant him screaming at God in the 1981 Bo Derek/Miles O'Keefe Tarzan movie
Kill James Rond
Richard Harris do be Irish though
Alice: “he (Alec Baldwin) really dodged a bullet on this movie” Unfortunately not everyone has dodged Alec Baldwin’s bullets on a movie. Sorry
I’d propose the Order of the Condor, for characters who heroically refuse to explain anything to people they are ordering around.
"Harry, have you been checking my goblet of dumps?" Dumble O'Dore asked calmly.
I'm detecting "films that almost predicted 9/11" as a subtheme of this podcast.
This one merely predicted the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing the year after it came out.
I have just looked up the next bonus on Wikipedia I could not possibly be more hyped for this
the what
