For future reference a shoe knife was used to good effect during a fight scene for Salt with Angelina Jolie, Liev Schreiber, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Daniel Olbrychski etc. For a capable director, with athletic actors, a shoe knife is not useless. FWIW Salt is quite a watchable and enjoyable spy movie.

Okay so while I get that the running gag about hauntology where Abi says "Go read a fucking book" is to remind the audience that this isn't philosophy tube... it is still a little hurtful to people who have disabilities that make reading incredibly difficult or impossible. Especially since we tend to rely on things like podcasts, youtube, and audio books. So it's probably a decent hunk of your audience. Didn't get the vibe that any harm was intended, just thought I'd point that out, I still really enjoy the show. Best wishes.

speaking of the shoe knife, maybe for a future bond-adjacent bonus episode you could do the Pink Panther Strikes Again just for that part with all the international assassins including The Egyptian and The Russian.

Lupe Lamora was in License to Kill, not Living Daylights. But I agree, she's gorgeous.

Now see here 007, when you apply this umbrella to the leg of any journalist, the tracking device inside will lead you straight to their grave

Regarding the hypothetical well-intentioned antagonist, I think the way to actually make that character be legit in their goals and still pull it off in a Bond-esque way is for the villain's dragon (ie, their right hand legbreaker) to have believed this was all for the inevitable 100 million in (insert precious material here), rather than for the high-minded ideals...and then turn on the well-intentioned character when it becomes apparent that they aren't going to ask for anything more than the housing/medical care/UBI. Great concept though, love it. And a lovely episode.

What's Vargas the Musical.... compared to Kronsteen the Musical?

Btw, I heard the comment about MCU couching Killmonger’s righteous political opinions with vague fascistic violence as a way to criticize leftist politics in a veiled way and it absolutely floored me because that is definitely going to be the trend going forward (Flag Smashers in the new MCU series too). Great analysis! Became a patron because of that in the preview.

For the villain musical, I want to hear a song by Dr. No justifying his 1 million dollar window purchase. Either that or a group song where they are coming up with the SPECTRE backronym

Jaws for the lead in Hench the Musical. Poor Jaws

The villain we’re getting next is gna be Brexit isn’t it? The baddy in latest ep of Line of Duty was giving it ‘take back control’ and complaining about bureaucrats

Big Neil the Exploder Key Guard is my favourite secondary character in Hench: The Musical.

If you want something Bond-adjacent, I'd like to recommend the Star Trek: DS9 episode Our Man Bashir, seasn 4 episode 10, in which Dr Bashir indulges in a holosuite program where he gets to play a 60s spy :) Garak is there too so you know there's gonna be adorable shipping, great dialogue, and fun action, and some silliness (I've always seen Garak as evil Robin Williams) it could well be a good time ^_^

Alright, Liam and Devon make 2 out of 3 podcast hosts, who would be a good third for a fuck the ocean podcast?

K

Either Hussein or Phoebe from 10k Posts. Both are staunchly anti-ocean

I'm half expecting the next villains to be a redesign of Elliot Carver except the CEO of a social media platform.

james bond vs operation gladio would be pretty good, I bet.

I'm glad to hear Abigail giving Trashfuture its proper name; almost everyone - including the hosts - says "trash future", which isn't how its written.

Fck I could've asked "So, when will TF play Paranoia and Nate have to go through the hell of editing such an episode" but I had not realized such a thing was to occur. Serves me right to neither have twitter and often listen to eps as I go to sleep.

I honestly find these movies pretty enjoyable. They’re extremely problematic but most pop culture products are.

I'm glad my question was put in just so I can imagine Alice chasing Abigail around with an Anti-Thirst spray bottle, lol
