S3E15: Charlie's Angels (2000) [Live]
We've talked a lot about Men, in our time. But what if there were a fairer sex? What if the year was 2000, the cold war was won, history was over, 9/11 was never going to happen, and it was finally time to start thinking about whether Women could be in movies.
This, recorded live at the Streatham Space Project on International Women's Day, the 8th of March 2024, is Charlie's Angels!

I want to know where Devon got their jumpsuit from
They already made an origin story for Charlie's Angels, it's a series called Totally Spies
/s Ladies, you have displaced a Femboy Hooters Fantasy with a Femboy Giant Cameron Diaz Fantasy :)
I badly want to know what supplements Abi is on to give her that power
In fairness, I would absolutely have pictures around my place of me and friends but with my face blocked out.

The constant back and forth flirting with Abigail and November was very cute and endearing. And Devon was there!
Dressing in my Germanicly-insensitive costume, applying von Braun face
Absolutely agonizing, congratulations
Thank you especially for Devon for that important, emotional acknowledgement of the women & AFAB folks of Gaza. They deserve every bit of attention people with platforms can direct their way. M I’ve wanted to cry and scream for the past 6 months, but you three have given me so much joy and relief. And I think my Palestinian friends will lol at the “white boy Jannah” joke!
The Mr. Wint joke took a second to land...BUT HOLY CRAP DID IT LAND.
Famously Vampira did the take one look at her lines and immediately declare her character should be mute thing with Plan 9 from Outer Space
This was a reminder that as rotten as things have been, we have actually come a long way in the last 20 years.
Thank you for taking me yet again through another movie they showed us at school when I was 11.
Re: the RAM bit. Leave poor Abi alone. She's still trying to rotate those PDFs 😭
Y'all are gonna have to do Freddy Got Fingered as a bonus to really feel that Tom/Drew, 9/11 hasn't happened yet, energy. Or just listen to the Ironweeds episode about it.
This film was instrumental in both confirming to preteen me that I am definitely gay AND in convincing my parents that I was not.
This episode is the best tribute to Ayrton Senna 30 years on.
Listening to this having been at the show is making me sad that the visuals of Abi’s Crispin Glover cigarette-smoking and hair-sniffing are lost in the auditory medium, truly S-tier bits
Wait, women are real!?
This was so incredible to be there for. Looking forward to hearing how it came out in the edit!
This was so damn amazing to witness live! Wonderfully sweet and amazing people all around ❤️
Not even 20 minutes in, and everyone's in such top form! (and definitely up for said suggested spin-off)
Devon playing the role of the ace friend at the function is all the representation I neeeeeed (not saying Devon is ace, just that they’re playing that role for the live show)
Polycule Blues is my favorite episode of Miami Vice
MAXIMUM BLACKFACE in the goddamn cold open. I'm *so* glad I decided not to watch this movie until I'd heard the live show, this is going to be an incredible listening experience.
I'm not quite ready to die on that hill but I don't feel like it *is* blackface, actually ? It's *somewhat* blackface in that LL Cool Jay was asked to be Maximum Daishiki African about his cameo ; but the "white person pretending to be a black person" itself was presented as being about tactical deception rather than mockery and degradation in and of itself ; or commemoration of subjugation ? It's not AS clearly Not Blackface as Tropic Thunder was, surely, but.
Before I even start listening I'm predicting a 7 in the first 5 minutes of the movie
Before I even start, I'm going to predict an 8 for Misogyny (Patronising), and even then it'll only be that low because Goldfinger has pretty much permanently capped the various Misogyny subcategories at 9 for anything that isn't outright tagged as being unwatchable.
I've been waiting for this!
Let's not forget about sweet Chad 😅
