Backer St Irregulars Returns! Episode 11: The Engineer's Thumb

After far too long a hiatus (sorry) my favourite bit-of-fun side-project - in which myself, Daniel, and Kit go through the Sherlock Holmes stories one by one - returns.  This time we tackle little-known oddity The Adventure of the Engineer's Thumb.  Never filmed (as far as I know) and seldom talked-about, this is a strange little tale which turns out to have some interesting interior dimensions.  Not the least of which being that it is essentially a Poe-esque Gothic body-horror tale which centres on anxieties about industrialism, production, money, and profit.  We get into some of that, and also have a good laugh... because this is a giggly episode.  Props, as ever, to Kit for doing all the editing and post-production.

Enjoy.  Sherlock Holmes will return in The Adventure of the Noble Bachelor.
