Backer Street Irregulars Ep7 The Five Orange Pips
Hooray! Backer Street Irregulars returns! (With apologies about the lengthy gap since the last episode.)
This time, Kit and I are joined by a very special guest... Daniel Harper from little known podcast 'I Can't Speak Nazi' (or something?). We asked Daniel aboard because he's - as you all know - an expert on the American far-right and the story we talk about in this episode is... um... not really about the Ku Klux Klan very much... as it turns out. Anyway, it made for such a fun experience that Daniel is now aboard as a regular third host of Back Street Irregulars, which should (hopefully) be back fairly soon with more episodes.
Also coming this month just for my Patrons: the final thought-provoking episode of Holly Explains Final Fantasy VII to Jack (in advance of publication), and at least one new IDSG bonus ep. For the few of you who liked my recent ghost story: I am working on a new one (more a 'strange story' than a ghost story proper tbh) but I doubt it'll be finished this month. But when it's done, you'll get it first.
I want to say thanks here to Kit for doing all the labour of editing on Backer Street Irregulars. Podcast editing is more work than people think (you might realise why I know this) so all props to him. All I have to do for BSI is read and talk, neither of which are tasks I dread.
Anyway, enjoy. It's a good episode with lots of laughs.

Having gotten the entire original canon as a gift, this is all right up my alley, but I could wish there had been more debate around the question of whether the pips were meant to be orange in colour or to come from Florida's state fruit.
Great episode! Glad to have this back
I'd be interested in seeing your opinion on Clair O'Dell's a study in Honor. It may be the first non-Conan Doyle text I've read that gets the idea of Sherlock correct.
