The Backer Street Irregulars, Episode 1 - Pilot
The first episode in a new podcast series in which I chat with my brilliant friend Kit Power about our recent return to the original Sherlock Holmes stories by Arthur Conan Doyle. Exclusive for Patreon supporters of Kit and/or myself. Enjoy.

I got my copy of A Study in Scarlet from upstairs after this, you really planted the seed for me to read these again! (Hope it's all right that it's the Sherlock edition with a Steven Moffat introduction o_o) My Goodreads account doesn't have a date for when I read them, and it was definitely before I made the account, but I distinctly remember reading them in college, so that's anywhere from late 2012 to late 2014. Which is sooner than when you and Kit last read them in fairness, even though I was definitely a different person then. Looking forward to it! I'm fairly fond of A Study in Scarlet, extended Mormon flashback and all, though goodness knows what I'd think of it now. Let the game be afoot once more I suppose! Though technically with this pilot episode it's already afoot. No matter!
This was good. You guys are correct, I think, about the tv series perhaps clouding the perception that Watson was actually much more impressive in the original stories. I'll admit to believing that even when we did all of those Holmes adaptations on TMBDOS.
Cheers for this Jack!
This was a very enjoyable listen! I’m very much looking forward to future episodes and reading along with you both
Looking forward to listening to this Jack - is there any chance you could enable the RSS feed for your Patreon? Would just mean I can get it directly in my Podcast App, rather than relying on Patreon's, let's say, inconsistent, website. https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/213557023-Enable-audio-RSS-feeds-for-my-patrons
Done.
