Development Update 1
Two weeks have gone to past since I announced my new game. For everyone that hasn't seen it, I described the plot here.
Now, about two days ago, I finished writing the story. It topped off at 15.700 words. That's a lot, but there is a lot of plot to set up, so it's necessary. The one thing that worries me a little is if I can deliver on some of the cinematic effects I planned to incorporate. If everything works out, this game will be on a completely different level from what I've produced so far.
Still, realistically I'll need to make some cuts because of personal abilities, but I will at least try to make this one awesome.
I'd love to raise my art to another level, and I think this game will give me more than one opportunity to challenge myself. Maybe you can tell by reading between the lines, but I'm excited! I'd love just to start rendering and editing, and I even want to keep on writing.
Still, I gave myself some tedious tasks that need to be finished, like creating a house from Daz primitives. It's like Minecraft but different. I also had to model an inflatable mattress or a low poly tent. To be honest, I didn't need to create the tent yet, but I needed the mattress, and when I started modeling, I thought, why not make the tent too? Anyway, you can see both of these above. They aren't my best work, but they'll do for what they are needed.
This is also a view behind the scenes. Most devs don't create one perfectly natural-looking environment, but they work around angles that look realistic and hide flaws in the scenes. Me creating a whole house is trying to go against that, but I bet that even now, I'd be able to create some stunning shots even without the house being completely finished.
Anyway. I could have created some beautiful shots, but did I do that? Did I already start rendering? Nah, not really. Other than test renders to see how some of the rooms and characters look, I haven't done much, but that's coming soon. And with soon, I mean next week. I think I have everything I need to do so; if not, I'll create it along the way.
This one is going to be great.
Keep your eyes open for additional information, and until then, Enjoy!
