Morvold Music - Gold Dragon Monastery!

I very excited to announce our next Morvold Music piece - the theme for the secluded mountain monastery inhabited by monks serving the Gold Dragon, who are engaged in a generational battle against the Clan of the Shadow.

This track was composed by Josh Barron (www.joshbarroncomposer.com), one of your fellow Patrons.

I absolutely loved the story he was able to tell through the various pieces of music, which I will describe down below, in case you would like to follow along for the vision.

We had a wonderful illustrated scene created for this map, by Mondcuow, which provides an excellent view of the monastery and surrounding mountains.

For those that may have joined us after the release of the Gold Dragon Monastery map, here is an example of the mountain village and monastery:

Here's my attempt to convey the story-vision:

0 - :31 - Moving up the stone walkway of the mountains, mist obscuring much of what lay ahead before the clouds part and you see the village and entry bridge to the monastery.

:32 - 1:29 - We follow a monk through the village before moving to cross the bridge, coming to the doors of the monastery and pushing inside.

1:29 - 2:07 - We make our way through the gates into the training yards of the monastery, where monks appear in different groups working on a variety of martial exercises. Masters consider us, as we come before the main doors of the primary temple building at the east end.

2:07 - 2:29 - The doors of the main temple open and we see the prize of the monastery, a long dragon scroll unfurled from the mouth of a massive gold dragon statue.

2:29 - 2:42 - We slowly zoom in on the scroll, then over toward a window, where a flicker of shadow is seen moving upon the rock. Exiting the window, we see a ninja watching from without writing something on a paper.

2:42 - 3:20 - The ninja slowly moves away from the window and begins moving among the dangerous mountain rocks, as other ninja quietly join, jumping through the mist until it transitions to them approaching a waterfall in a village and passing through the water to a camp behind the falls.

3:20 - 3:40- The ninja approach an Oni ninja leader, who turns to regard them as they approach and takes the paper from the ninja.

3:40 - 4:05 - The Oni regards the piece of paper, nods to the ninja and then turns toward a map of the monastery before him with battle plans and tosses the paper into a burning brazier.

I've attached these to the bottom of the post, in case you wanted to use them for any of your upcoming adventures in 2026.
