Morvold Music - Chult Colosseum Theme!
I very excited to announce our next Morvold Music piece - the theme for my vision of the Chult Colosseum Games, a combination of social posturing and dangerous races along a massive track between armored dinosaurs and their celebrity riders.
I am commissioning composers/songwriters to create soundtracks to maps that I've created to help provide an even more immersive feel to your sessions. This month, I am happy to provide you with the Chult Colosseum Theme by Josh Barron (www.joshbarroncomposer.com), one of your fellow Patrons.
I absolutely loved the story he was able to tell through the various pieces of music, which I will describe down below, in case you would like to follow along for the vision.
Where can I listen to it?
You can either check it out on Soundcloud here: https://on.soundcloud.com/FVeTkb7aFG3IE1Ou2u or I've attached an MP4 file at the bottom of the post you can download and integrate into whatever playlists or jukeboxes you might keep for your sessions.
We had a couple of great illustrated scenes created recently for the games, both by Ha Art, which does a great job showcasing both the arena, as well as the race itself:
For those that may have joined us after the release of the Chult Colosseum, here is a map of the main course:
Here's my attempt to convey the story-vision:
0 - 1min - Traveling through a snow covered mountain pass with heavy snow fall - the shape of the castle in the distance can be seen and finally we reach the warmth of the fires burning at the front gate.
1 - 0:41 - We roll in on the arena, pan down toward the massive doors of the animal pens, which swing open to the sound of fanfare and the riders begin to emerge from the caves.
0:41 - 1:12 - The riders all emerge from the cave and move to the starting line, when some fanfare signals the beginning of the race.
1:12 - 1:41 - The race begins, with some of the larger dinosaurs lurching forward and immediately beginning to shove and push against a few of the other riders. The larger dinosaurs race for a bit, before one falls into the dust, shifting to some of the smaller riders moving over its dusty form as they race onward.
1:41 - 2:27 - We switch to a far view, zooming in slowly with an aerial shot of the racers all moving along the course from a distance, swooping down slowly to get closer to them on the track until we're hovering over them.
2:27 - 3:03 - We return to the remaining dinosaurs in the race, posturing and fighting as they race toward the finish line, some falling to the side as they are slammed or trip, until there are only a pair left racing for the finish line ending in dramatic fashion!
I've attached these to the bottom of the post, in case you wanted to use them for any of your upcoming adventures in 2026.
I am excited about the music and hope to bring you much more this year! =)
