FIRST TIME WATCHING: Attack on Titan S4E87

so... does anyone knows which version of the ending Nat will watch? The season 4 part 3 (2 episodes) or the movie (the last attack) with the end credit scene? Sure the end credit doesn't add anything to the story, so it's not a must watch or anything.

About Eren Laughing when Sasha died... I'd encourage you to go back to season 2 finale. When Hannes died... Eren down on his knees unable to transform and save him... then he also laughed. It's a laugh of dispair, of helplessness and he screams off the top of his lungs: "NOTHING CHANGED!" Cut to Sasha's death... and now knowing what the special trait of the Attack Titan is, that he is able to see the future, he no doubt saw Sasha's death and knew that her last words would be "meat..." I don't doubt it that internally he is thinking the exact same thing he thought when Hannes died: "Nothing changed..." Not just Sasha dying... but all of it. It's all gonna come down to me doing The Rumbling. Nothing has changed... nothing is changing...

I hope Attack on Titan gets replaced with another anime once it's done. So many phenomenal stories are told through the medium it'd be a shame to not keep going after this.

Yes when he laughed when Sasha died it was despair. The fact that he cannot stop it. If you recall he laughed when Hannes died to the titan of his fathers former wife. The feeling of powerlessness and hopelessness he felt was so intense and extreme that it came out as a laugh at how cruel it all was, and how despite all the power he has, he still can't even save the people closest to him. It has come down to a decision, wipe out countless people so that only Eldeans exist, or let the significantly smaller number of Eldeans who contain all the people he personally loves be tormented, imprisoned and eventually killed by the rest of humanity. When you say he is perpetuating the violence, his whole idea is to kill ALL of humanity outside the walls. Obviously there will always be war and division, but he plans to wipe out the other side in this completely, so there cannot be a perpetuation at least between Eldeans and non-Eldeans. This is not to argue that I agree with his choices, just that it's not as foolish as striking the rest of humanity really hard such that they can strike back, they won't be able to because they'll all be gone.

This has been such a crazy ride with you Nat! I’m sad it’s about to be over because there is nothing else like this show. If you ever do another anime it will be hard to follow this one. Also as for Eren's form it's foreshadowed in the medal ceremony. The camera angle shows Historia hoding the medal in a such a way that it looks exactly like Eren's founding titan form from the front.

back in season 1, episode 2, as eren is crying and angry as his home is destroyed, as his mother was killed in front of him, he stood up from the boat taking him and his friends to safety, he made a declaration. "I will kill them all! I'll wipe them out, until not a single one of them remains!" he said the same thing here as he arrives at marley. eren laughed when he heard sasha died because her last words were "meat" and he also laughed when hannes died. its just a coping mechanism most likely. historia didnt have her memories erased, he was just saying if its too hard to cope that he would erase her memories. and back in season 3 when historia rejected her father and saved eren, she basically declared to hell with the world, and that she was the worst girl who ever lived, that she was an enemy to humanity. thats why eren said that to her, saying that it was partially her fault for not eating him like he asked her too. i gotta ask but, the specials dont have endings or openings themselves but was later released. these are officials and i was wondering if you'd react to them after watching the specials? also, doubt youll skip it but the 2nd one has end credit and after credit scenes.

Eren laughed remembering Sasha stealing meat it was also a painful laugh cause he knew the future.
