FIRST TIME WATCHING: It Follows

Happy Feature Friday folks!

It's time for another spooky, Natmares pick. 👻

This one definitely had a lot of creepy moments and dread. I'm curious to hear what y'all think of this film. For those who'd like to know, I watched this on Peacock.

Thank you so much for your support here on Patreon. Until the next one, take care and stay golden! ✨

I was looking forward to this one. What I love about this movie is how unique it feels. I think I appreciate movies that create their own unique atmospheres. When you are enraptured by the mood and tone that is set, alone. I also don’t need a lot of spectacle to feel impressed and sometimes I feel like LESS spectacle does a lot more. I know these movies are tough for you, but thanks for watching, Nat!

Damn, Nat. You were on point with your guesses on this one 😂 Catching the girl in the white jacket, calling that someone was gonna get shot by someone trying to kill the entity, calling out Greg dying IMMEDIATELY cos he’s dumb as hell 😭 These horror reactions are doing you good! 😆

Happy belated B-Day, Nat!! I always wondered what movie that giant ass dude was from. It freaked me out in the previews a long time ago and I never seen this movie till now. It did have a cool scary concept, I thought it was fun as well but this was a bit disappointing for me though. For clarification the movie was disappointing, not your reaction lol. I look forward to the next one. Anyway, enjoy the traveling next week. Stay Golden!!

I would probably give this one 70-75/100. I basically agree with your take on this movie. There was actually a movie that came out this year that has similar premise, but the story is way better. I saw it in the theaters a few months ago. Leviticus by a first time filmmaker Adrian Chiarella. I would give that one 85/100 at least.

I saw this one way back when it was released like 12 years ago, I thought it was decent then, but watching it now, it's a cool idea that falls a little flat imo They are making a sequel called “They Follow” so I’ll keep an open mind because the concept is still interesting.

They've been wanting to make that sequel for years now since this one was a big hit.

Nat if you’re looking for lighter fare for Natmare season, you can go wrong with The Ghost and Mr. Chicken. Don Knotts in a haunted house.

I love this movie. You should also check out David Robert Mitchell's new movie The End of Oak Street (2026). Also Happy Birthday. I hope you had a good day even though you did not do much. I had my birthday a few weeks ago and I saw Resident Evil and played video games lol.

Oh I def want to watch that! Might do it after Natmares since it doesn't feel spooky enough to me, but it seems like a lot of fun!

Happy Birthday Nat! I have a few thoughts about the movie. About the indeterminate setting I read it was the intention of the director to have the time period be ambiguous. It could be anywhere from the late 80s to the mid 2010s. I guess to feel more broad to viewers. Give it that safe feeling before innocence is lost. Jeff knew all the rules because it had been following him for a while. And it's implied that Greg was sleeping around and that might be why it took so long to find him. He was flirting with those girls. Same with those guys on the boat there was an obvious gap where she was safe at home for a while. And as for the ambiguous ending, it's right there in the title: It Follows.

Gotta say - I was bored. Didn't scare me. Shots were over-long and went nowhere. The suspense wasn't there for me either. I donno. 1/2 way decent concept. I don't feel it was executed well at all.

This was Maika Monroe's first significant role and the reason she had a big career. Also, the end form that the creature took was of her dead father. Earlier in the movie she dreamed of holding hands with her true love and that matches the end shot. As a former teenage boy, I totally would have made the same decision that Paul made at the end there. If the girl I loved, who kept passing me over, suddenly gave me a chance because the price was me being marked for death instead of her... Yeah, I'd have accepted and felt like I was being real noble 😉

Happy Feature Frightday Nat. Your t-shirt is awesome. You won't want to feel our presence. It will be a little crowded in there 😅 Working for us on your birthday, and watching a scary movie is above and beyond the call of duty, so we appreciate it Nat 😊 Run, Forrest, Run haha 😀 This was pretty moody and creepy. The seashell E reader doesn't exist but was created for the film out of a 60s compact. Along with the costumes and locations, it's to indicate that this film is not meant to be set in any era. The music was cool, and the Echoplexing electronics were suitably atmospheric. Allegedly there is a sequel on the way, They Follow. Thanks for a fun reaction today Nat 😊
