Oh fukc! I just realised, when Eren was conceived, his father was already with the attack titan power. So his "I was born this way" with the fire of rage inside him has probably something to do with the power of the attack titan. Like he is the attack titan personified. 😱 It makes total sense! This show is so well written!

Also, probably when his father married Zeke's mother was something political because she was royal blooded and part of the resistance and not purely about love, while Eren's mom was his real love, a simple naive girl from a walled city. Maybe it has something to do with why he appears to give more love to Eren while growing up.

Grisha wanted his son to be like Eren the first time he was a father, and wanted his second son to be like Zeke when he was with Carla.

I’ve never seen someone’s immediate reaction to Eren manipulating his dad to murder the Reiss family with “awww” 😂 never change, Nat

Did Eren basically force his dad to kill the Reiss Family in the past because he saw the memory in the future when he kissed Historia’s hand, so he knew it had to happen - or is it because he’s genuinely more angry and bloodthirsty than either of them and it’s HIS future-memories that’s been driving all the previous Attack Titans…

Completely forgot about seeing the future tbh, that’s kinda crazy. And making it specific so you can only see your own future memories is another layer of insanity This horror movie-esque turnaround tho was soooo crazy first time around, and cemented Eren as the monster of the story in my opinion 😮‍💨 I understand there’s influence from the previous Attack Titans’ memories and the power of the Founder, but HE manipulated Grisha by not showing him specific outcomes in the future, and directly encouraged him to kill the royal family 😭 and that’s not counting what happens next

It is never said out loud by anyone. But we can gather that this is the reason Eren Kruger was able to know Armin and Mikasa's names near the end of season 3. And That episode was aptly named: The Attack Titan. Which beyond just vibes and name dropping not only the episode, the titan's name and the SHOW's name (Shingeki No Kyojin is the original Japanese name for AoT)... it gives a brief glipse into the special trait of said titan. Only until now is explained how that was remotely possible. Isayama is Build different.

I get chills every time: Zeke... エレンを…止めてくれ (Stop Eren)

I don't mind waiting now. I want you to wait after the next...

It's the first time he actually TRIES to be a loving father... not just use his child. Which marks the difference in childhoods between the two.

Oh yeah, are you able to see the English subtitles for the opening and ending songs? The songs are made specifically for the show, and for the particular part of the story arc. I think the current intro is sung from Eren's perspective ("I never wanted to grab a knife" - probably a reference to him having to kill to rescue Mikasa). You might enjoy checking out the English subs for all the intros and endings.

The reason Grisha was able to see Zeke while Zeke and Eren were travelling through Grisha’s memories is basically connected to the Attack Titan’s ability to see into the future. Grisha wasn’t simply seeing Zeke because he was physically present in the Paths. He was able to perceive Zeke through Eren’s perspective. If you carefully rewatch those scenes, you’ll notice that whenever Grisha is able to see Zeke, Eren is facing Zeke from his own perspective. Grisha is essentially seeing what Eren is seeing. This also explains why Grisha couldn’t see everything. Eren had control over which memories he allowed Grisha to see. Grisha even realizes this himself and asks, “Why won’t Eren show me everything?” So, in my view, Grisha seeing Zeke wasn’t a separate or unexplained power. It’s essentially the Attack Titan’s future-memory ability being experienced from Eren’s perspective, with Eren selectively revealing those memories to Grisha.

i feel like the argument of "he only saw zeke because eren was looking at him" is a weird conclusion, tbh. its like if we see a cake only being eaten during the day and someone makes the argument of "cake can only be eaten in the daytime in this universe." its just one of those things that doesnt really need an over complicated explanation as neither the explanation of "he can see zeke because hes traveling with eren through him and his dads memories" and "he saw zeke because eren was looking at him" changes the fact that grisha needed to see zeke in order to give him closure.

"Keep moving forward. Even if you die. Even after you die. This is the story you started, isn't it?" Those were the exact words that Kruger (The Owl) said to Grisha shortly before giving him the Attack Titan. Was Eren using Kruger's words, or was Kruger speaking Eren's words? It's crazy to think about.

This is absolutely my favourite episode. The Attack Titan Future memory reveal was mindblowing. Also, that is what Eren saw back when he kissed Historia's hand. Eren saw himself coercing Grisha to kill the Reiss. No wonder Eren was kinda disturbed back then.

oh my god! im glad obs saved you! also, we never got that question you wanted to ask and im guessing it was grisha's time remaining. if it was that, basically when eren inherited his titan, he was close, like within a year for his time being up. i have a theory and its never been confirmed but i have a theory that grisha caused the outbreak that the walls had in order to raise his own status to get closer to those higher up. i love that when he was pleading for frieda to help that he referred to mikasa as a daughter, even though she hadnt been with them for very long. so, eren saw only glimpses of the future, its in fragments but he has that ability, same with grisha and kruger before him. wanna hear something fucked up? grisha had no idea at the end there that carla had already been eaten but eren convinced grisha that in order to save her, mikasa and him that he had to kill the grice family. it isnt until grisha finds eren after everything had settled when the walls fell that he found out carla had died in the attack. grisha then knew that nothing would stop eren from getting what he wanted, even if little eren didnt know it.

What an episode, This episode answers the question to how the owl knew about Mikasa and Armin because of the attack titan abilities. Zeke spent his whole life thinking Eren was just like him being brainwashed by grisha to only found out Grisha was being brainwashed by Eren. I love the nature vs nurture between Eren and Zeke. Zeke was mostly a product of his environment because of how he was raised. But grisha didn’t do that with Eren, and raised him freely but he still had this anger, rage and desire for freedom. Eren was the son grisha wanted in Marley. And zeke was the son grisha wanted in paradis.
