Fanu/FatGyver

Been absolutely, totally smashed by client work for a month without weekends off AND it's my birthday tomorrow, so to celebrate all that, ya boi is taking 10 days off and LITERALLY THE FIRST thing I wanted to do is make a new video for ya'll! By the way my forthcoming ALBUM PREORDER starts tomorrow,

Talking about what makes for a good breakbeat and what to take into account for a while now. Let's listen – you get samples too! Been meaning to talk about what makes for a good breakbeat and what to take into account for a while now. Obviously talk alone would be boring, so I'm going through some e

Was cleaning up my Google Drive and noticed I have a folder of tasty Finnish drumbreaks up there, so why not let ya'll have them. There's 35+ breaks, and you probably haven't heard them before. DOWNLOAD FOLDER These breaks are mostly from a Finnish funk/soul label, Timmion, so check them out on Band

Been creating snares for you! It’s difficult, and much harder than kicks especially if you want somewhat organic instead of analog white noisey ones. Still looking for the best methods 😉 📁 Here is a bunch of snares! 📁 By the way, do not sleep on my other Patreon samples either! I’d say these’d be

I have decided that I will keep the downloads going for my Fanu & FatGyver DNB and hip hop breaks sample packs – for paid members. These were (and still are) sold via my Bandcamp. 📁 DOWNLOAD LINKS 👇🏻 Fanu's DNB BREAKS FatGyver's hiphop breaks

I sat down to generate new kicks for my forthcoming productions. I love having something I've literally certainly never heard before. I wanted to share these with you. These should be fairly useful for DNB, hiphop, and related styles. These are not samples I've ripped from somewhere; I have generate

New beat walkthru time! Also I've got some drum samples for you. New beat walkthru time! Also I've got some drum samples for you (check end of post for links). Lemme slap you with some samples! (Btw don't forget to check the earlier samples or downloads) Most of these are from some of my most recent released songs, but I also added a few extras there. There are kicks, hats, snares, and basses. I wanted to bounce these into audio so I could use them again m

I sample things all the damn time. There's no end to it. I hear something great – I will sample it. I also go to record stores and buy a bit of this and that. Sometimes I buy records quite blindly just to support a record store, but in hopes of finding something useful. I just bought a 1 EUR bargain

You remember Uncle Fanu promised to hit you up with some snares soon? Well here they are! 20 snares – download (and no sharing the link) These are all copyright-free. I've tried to keep these organic-ish and mallable: the stuff I would (and will!) use myself. Good for DNB, trap, hip hop, doing custo

Always willing to inspire others, I wanted to let you know about this cool speech sample source site because it's quite unrivaled! Basically that site allows you to search for phrases of speech in a huge movie database. You also get to see what movie it's from. Obviously you can sample it, but you c

Who wants some kickdrums? Grab them HERE! (no sharing!) Basically, I was creating some kicks with Steinberg Backbone. I did a bunch, scrapped some crappy ones, and here's a batch I think should be useful. Some can be used as main kicks, some as layers…go wild. I actually plan to give you more drumso

SP-12 drums plus instrument for Ableton, Bitwig, and Renoise/Redux. Slamming you with SP-12 drums sampled from my SP-12 AND instruments for Ableton Live 10 & 11, Bitwig Studio, and Redux/Renoise. If you've been hanging around on my Patreon long enough, you'll remember that I originally did a rack fo

Download the break here. It's my birthday today and I thought I'd give something back to the community, people that support me and so on. I'm taking the whole week off to work on some music, and one of the things I'm doing is work on a remix that uses the classic Think break by Lyn Collins. I haven'

I have a new tune, Firemind, out on Straight Up Breakbeat’s new compilation. (The label owns the recording, so I respect that, and unlike with my own releases, I can't give the song away) I've uploaded the stems of the song for anyone who wants to get some drums, bass, and samples! • DOWNLOAD HERE •

Came up with a thought today: why not let my patrons know about some hot breaks to sample – I'm always trying to promote a healthy breaks culture where producers'd use breaks not heard a lot before. So here's 10 dope ones off the top of my head. Some of these links take you to the digital release, b

I got a few messages asking for the samples that I extracted in the last video. I also found a new cool hip hop head running a Patreon page and he seems to do the same thing (sharing his diggings). I prob won't make this a very common thing, but hey, here we go, why not! Just keep in mind, these are

Alright my dear Patrons! "Truth And Lies" D&B EP is out, and I’m giving you its stems. All stems are full-length – just a direct bounce out of the songs. No master limiting, so they're not mega loud, but all dynamics is there. Feel free to have fun with tons of samples, breaks, bass…do your best, or

Alright fam! The new EP on Slug Wife is out. To put it very briefly: I'm letting my patrons DOWNLOAD the stems of the songs. (to honor the fact that it's not self-released, I'm not giving out the songs via Patreon, while I do that for all songs I actually release myself thru my own channels) They're

Hi ya'll! (pic is from the web; I used to have a real cool pic of me micing the xylophone in this pack but boo it's gone!) Hope everybody's summer has been real nice so far. Lemme tell you it's been hot here, and long days in the lab mean I'm sweating like a…well I dunno what sweats more than a huma

It was probably some 10-15 years ago that a friend told me that you could download good-quality cymbal samples from the website of Zildjian. I've used them every now and then. You can't download them anymore, but you can of course record the audio previews. E.g., to browse some ride sounds, click Pr

As you know, I love breakbeats. There's nothing better than a phat drumloop you can chop and rearrange. I want to give my Patrons some specials, and here's a nugget. It's from an unreleased song of mine (that may come out one day). I was working on it again and thought, heck, if the song never comes

I’m a nerd that makes his living doing audio engineering, and technological advancements such as isolating parts of music/audio fascinate me highly. I also love making sample-based music, so being able to strip out and isolate some elements in audio interests me. Hence, let’s take a look at and comp

In the series of me slamming you with song stems, here we go with stems for a jungle tune called Crusty-Ass DS165 (peep the link to hear the song). It was a one-off Bandcamp single release. Done with an Akai s3200XL sampler, run hot into a Soundcraft desk, the sound I was going for is very Droppin'

Yo, happy Valentine's and stuff! Without any further ado and foreplay (lol), let's get down to business 😏 Here's downloads for ya'll: 1) Drums of the new FatGyver album that came out Feb 12 – download here (24-bit wav) 2) mp3s of the album – download (while the drums will stay up, I can't guarantee

You know the classic shaker (tambourine) part in the very classic Think break by Lyn Collins? It can give your mix a lot of great energy. You're hard-pressed to find one that's equally good. However, some years ago, I found one and have been using it a lot since. Its high freqs are even better. Funn

MOAR BASS! You remember, I said recently I'd give you some basses in December, right? Well, here you go! Some goodies from my personal collection. Some of these I've used quite a bit! These are definitely quite "Fanu-style". All except one are "one-shots"; there's one that's long where I was playing

I've uploaded the tracks of the opening song, "Place Of Color", from my new house EP. Get them here! This is the only song from the EP that I can open, as the others crash. The SP-12 in the pic: I got it as a gift from a generous friend, as the first song I did with it (or the foundation of the song

This is a pack of bass sounds I recorded from my analog Microbrute synth. It’s a small, monophonic beast that creates some pretty hefty bass sounds. The sounds in the pack are not anything super dirty, but they have nice (over)tones that will cut nicely thru your mix, and also, they should be someth

Been working on some house lately, and decided to record for ya'll all the in-built drumsounds of my beloved E-MU SP-12. DOWNLOAD here and enjoy! Also, here's the SP-12 drum sounds in a nice Ableton Live Drum Rack format: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ujayfapz839925z/SP-12%20Rack.zip?dl=0 They're nice a
