Breakbeat Of The Month #10: DJ Shadow break work + some Serum 2 stuff 🎛️🥁🎹 [video + sample DL]
Been absolutely, totally smashed by client work for a month without weekends off AND it's my birthday tomorrow, so to celebrate all that, ya boi is taking 10 days off and LITERALLY THE FIRST thing I wanted to do is make a new video for ya'll!
By the way my forthcoming ALBUM PREORDER starts tomorrow, Friday March 21, so be on the lookout! Got vinyl and digital coming ya'll's way in May (we planned for March and my bday, but record store day caused notable vinyl manufacturing delays)
Aaaaanyways, it's time to unravel yet another lesser known breakbeat.
This was used by DJ Shadow, I'm pretty sure (as explained on the video).
The song is Kashmere Stage Band: Kashmere and you can DOWNLOAD the break parts I cleaned up for you HERE.
I hope you can get some vibes going; I need to get deeper with this one. I can be used for hip hop, downtempo, and that sort of stuff.

Still can't understand how pros like you just poking DAWs here and there and eventually it's a hit track :))) I mean... Siren Song for example or any other of your tracks :)))
You just gotta keep your eyes open, make notes on what to sample, what ideas to try out…dick around, accept that not every idea is great… And every now and then something decent comes out :-) And thank you!
Damn!!! What a dope break! I don’t hear it often, I wonder if it’s the same from Mark Ronson - Night Last Night https://youtu.be/x7GIT11brDc?si=KScKOxZMzyqhioOa
Oh nice! I don’t think that’s the same, although it’s similar! Sounds very slightly similar to a Ronson break I covered earlier: https://www.patreon.com/posts/118285681
