I want to help you improve your EQing
Being good at EQing is a big part of my daily living.
I've earned a decent reputation as an audio engineer working with artists such as John Summit (I started with him around 2016 and still work with him and many similar artists), creating nice mixes and masters (11 years ago, I actually started with mastering only, but soon expanded to stem masters and full mixes).
I specialise in loud, modern, bassy electronic music.
In this tutorial, I go through the EQ ranges that I am most critical about in my daily work, and I want you to raise awareness about what goes into good EQing. I also talk about EQ shapes.
On this video, I am working on a tech house mix, but these tips and techniques are not genre-specific (52 mins, 1080p video, downloadable file).

Great tutorial, what if there are so frequencies that are not even useful or being listened, but having on the spectrum visually? That will be the only cases to low cut them which under 200Hz? So are the Side frequencies of your mastered tracks mostly from 200Hz to 6000Hz? And will it cause phase issues which cutting the master under 20Hz? This question appeared a lot on internet from time to time.
Been meaning to do a video touching this - will reply soon or make that video!
The Lord of the bells interesting takes on eqing!
So insightful. Thanks 🙏
Great tutorial mate!
Just watched this. Good video, thanks. Lots of detail in there.
Just cranked this out! Another great lesson

Shouldn’t be? It is showing to me, below where it says “BECOME A PAYING MEMBER AND TUNE IN ⬇️”
super nice video that points the important frequency ranges to consider. By the way could you synchronize the sound with the image ? bc there is a slight delay between them and it makes it harder to hear what's going on when you A/B plugins. love you videos
Thanks! The sync issue is simply because Ableton Live doesn't handle that when there's some plugin latency. I've got so used to it over the years, but obviously it's not great. Basically video and visual stuff happens immediately, but audio takes time to think, because of all the processing, and those two aren't synchronised...I wish they were!
legend thanks for this one! great tips
If you don't talk to your kids about EQ, who will?
Big facts
